Me too! I feel like she's a mix of Kostornaia and Sinitsyna (which are two of my favorite skaters so it's not a surprise I love her too!)

Veronika went straight from winning the younger group to winning the older group! Good for her! And congratulations to the other two, of course. I'm still wondering whats going on with the two Sofias (Akatieva/Samodelkina). They did so well at junior nationals (and Akatieva at the cup final), that perhaps there's no reason to compete at yet another national event. But yet, it still feels unnatural for either of their coaches to allow an athlete to skip an event while healthy, so I'm worried. Either way it should be fine though, Samodelkina has more than done enough to secure herself a spot at test skates later this year, and Akatieva has added enough to her reputation by placing second in an extremely competetive junior nationals - Younger Age nationals wouldn't do anything to change that. I do wonder if either of them plan to compete at Elder Age though. Both of them would have a good shot at the title. I guess we'll see.
Agreed, same lightness in gestures and big jumps.
I think puberty has been knocking to her door lately. Pretty poor tourney by her.
Zhilina left quad out in FS, Berestovskaya fell from 4T, generally average competition in older group without Samodielkina and Akatieva.

If with this performance she got 102 for TES we would have remake of Alyona's famous "Why did I bother to jump" scene
Alexandra with 4S downgraded to 2S with minus GOE (around 9 point loss) and with a fall on UR 4T (around 4-5 point loss) got 96 TES
I doubt she would have got significantly bellow 110 with this level of performance.
Had she landed 5 quads, she would have been toying with 180 FP score (sure, PCS shouldn't depend on Jumps but... Nobody doubts that without fall and 5 landed quads her pcs would rise significantly).

It's natural, all these girls are changing and adjusting permanently. Her legs have gotten a bit heavier and her coordination deteriorated immediately. Even her spins entries look worse now.
She will adjust or she won't, it's a constant fight for them, as Eteri admitted multiple times in interviews.

Exactly my observation of Petrosyan too.
Ups and downs are only natural in young skaters on the brink of starting puberty.
Much depends on Adeliya’s character and the psychology and support of parents and trainers.
Nonetheless, she has had an excellent debut season in the toughest team of figure skating.

Not a big deal, five quads for a girl, pheeww...
Landing five quads with obstacles moving all around and making faces is another matter. We may safely add +1 GOE per jump. A couple of times Sasha had to change direction abruptly.
What two those little ones thought about "participating" in this skating?

Several Bold predictions for next season:
Trusova still struggles(especially with 3A) but stays around 160 in FP 80 in SP until worlds, but gets 180+ FP at one of the grand prix event.
Anna tries to go for 4 Quad but it backfires badly and she returns to 3 quads and regularly gets around 170.
Alena has ups and downs A-la Alina one year ago.
Around December Anna lands 3A and Eteri posts Instagram video but jump won't be ready until at least,worlds.
Kamila adds another Quad to the program, maybe 2.
Maiia will either go big or fall off, next season we will either see her with at least 2 Quads or she will continue struggling on 4S.
Darya will have competition ready and stable 3A.
Alina lands quad at competition but has overall somewhat disappointing(but with some hope) season, somewhat similar to Maiia's result this season.
Liza lands her Quads here and there but loses worlds spot either to Alena or Alina in a controversial decision similar to CoR last year.
Russia will have 5 ladies in the Final which will create wild conspiracy theories among fans.
Russia fails to sweep Podium at GPF, either You or Kihira slightly edging out Russian lady at 4th place, decision which will be called robbery among Russian fans.
Masaru lands a quad at training

Ups and downs it's just natural. It's ice - it's slippery.
Because of such hysterical, hypertrophied reactions, the skaters of the Eteri group are under high stress pressure. One unsuccessful competition and start parade of "expert" conclusions and assumptions - "can it be an injury?", "or puberty?"( are you out of your mind? have you seen this tiny twelve- year-old girl?). Dear "experts"... come on, just... come on
Adelia's a twelve-year-old who had one bad competition out of what, five in the past few months? She'll be fine. Who knows, she probably just had a cold or something. Kids get sick all the time.
She went from 24th in elements to 7th in the free. That's a pretty great comeback if you ask me.

Interesting indeed. On these three wheel inline skates, one can do figure skating elements. There are also competitions on quad wheel skates, with a lot less figures. Synchro skating there is too.
Summer sport that can be practised outdoors without ice, or on those basketball halls or handball courts in many schools.

So far nice competition, many kids know how to perform at a serious level. Lots of pretty dresses too, parental pride is put in those costumes.
Top flight is going to be very competitive, top three really need to perform at their best. Khrustalniy has a chance of sweeping the gold medals.

Sofia Dzepka won the free and placed 3rd overall in the Young Age Nationals. She is such an enjoyable skater and holy moly her 2A is gorgeous!

Yes, I agree her axel is beautiful! (As is the rest of her skating) I definitely see triple axel potential in the future based on her technique - how she steps up and jumps out of the circle instead of some of the swingy 2As that go inside the circle. But I imagine getting solid 3-3s down first would be the priority. She has a lot of time before she’s junior eligible.
I had never heard of her before, but I just watched both of her programs and my goodness she is so lovely to watch :luv17: I cannot wait to watch her continue to grow and develop, there is SO much potential there!
