Yuzuru Hanyu: 2019-2021

I wonder if SOI is going to make announcement whether they will do it or not. We have only two weeks to go but the skaters from overseas should be in Japan about a week before the first day to do rehearsal, I think it is almost impossible. Or are they still trying to do it with only Japanese skaters? :scratch:

So, aren't big gatherings prohibited in Japan? I mean, that is the case in most countries right now.
 
Finally it was announced the all shows (Hachinohe and Yokohama) of SOI were cancelled. They said they would try to find another chance to do it in Yokohama but they are not sure at this point. So, no Yuzuru content in April is confirmed (unless he gives us something).

As firal says, the government has been asking us to not hold big gatherings but it's not prohibited officially. They were more strict about this before, but I feel they have become less and some event organizers have started to being active since last weekend, which I don't like personally. Yesterday, in Saitama Super Arena, the big game of K1 took place and it has been criticized in many ways right now. The governor of Saitama asked the representatives of the game not to do it but they didn't listen. The governor couldn't stop them since the government doesn't prohibit it. It seems Kinoshita Group and TBS, the organizers of SOI Japan had decent minds at least and I was relieved.

I've heard people who attended the K1 event have started to get fever. Good thing SOI Hachinohe is cancelled and SOI Yokohama is postponed for now. But the Japanese government should really put outright bans on large gatherings.

On another note, Tarasova was asked about who she would pick for Most Valuable Skater of the season for the ISU award. TAT's description of his program shows much she appreciates his skating too:

In the history of figure skating, there were outstanding skaters, but Hanyu is different. He is a celestial. His short program alone (Chopin's “Ballad No. 1”) is a program at the end of which you should not get up, but kneel down and thank God for being lucky to see this.

This is not just one hundred percent getting into music and empathy with it, not only the most complex elements that fit into every note, but some kind of absolutely amazing fusion with the music of the human soul. I saw this only twice in my life and not on ice, but in ballet: when Maya Plisetskaya danced The Dying Swan, and Mstislav Rostropovich accompanied her, and in the ballet studio in New York, where Diana Vishneva danced and was conducted by Valery Gergiev . Skating Yuzuru Hanyu is a phenomenon of the same order.
 
Sometimes, it feels like the reaction in Japan is completely out of step with what everyone else is facing. But now that the Olympics is really postponed, I hope as a country we can start taking the virus seriously and protect people.
Though it makes me really sad that we won't be seeing ice shows for the usual April start. --And maybe more.
I have a lot of videos I'm going to be rewatching of Yuzu. -Maybe I'll rewatch them ALL.

The make-up is incredible, Yuzu fans are always so talented. I hope she can come up with a make-up based on all his programs
