Lets summerize: team tuberize is on a downward spiral. Their juniors are their weakest crop in years and beaten by other coaches. They lost two stars. Alina now basically retired (quote tat). No luck with boys.
But eteri will change things around as always

Nah, they have Akatieva, Petrosian and Valieva. They’re ok. They also have Anna Shcherbakova, whose technique always makes me wonder how much of a chance she has of surviving puberty, but that currently is (at least) top 2 in the world. They just won’t sweep all 3 medals from podiums.

I must say that Pluschenko, having learned from a great technician like Mishin, is probably a good technical coach. That interview in which he talked about Sasha’s arm position and how long it took her to wrap her arms really caught my attention.

sigh...I said this not once.:drama: but it seems when a poster is fan- as me- the others don't take the information seriously. But sometimes you have to pay attention to what I say  because I follow what he has been doing for years, I know his life story, I read every interview with him and his students, teammate, etc. I have information from those fans who can watch the trainings and take photos, videos sometimes. I know his motivations.

Plushenko will be one of the best technical coaches. I can say one of the best coaches. Sure. The succes depends on what he wants. Funny and seems biased.. but true. Don't forget my words.

It’s not a team sport, let’s not forget about that!

Thank you. Nice to see another coach besides EG have a really good Junior. Obviously Veronika was EG made

Davydov's team is preparing more potentially strong skaters. Sofia Samodelkina namely, who was great at junior test skates. At junior nationals she was the only non-Eteri skater among the best 6. Earlier there was Anna Tarusina in his team, who finished two times silver at JGP events during 2018-19 season, unfortunately forced to retire because of injury (not caused by skating but by a car accident in 2016 just before her first scheduled JGP event, the injury probably never fully healed).

As much as I dislike Tatiana Tarasova’s attitude about skaters’ weight, I do wish she would choreograph more. She gave good programs to mao asada and sasha Cohen, and she at least let sotnikova hold a few of her long lines.

Totally agree.

Sometimes I get so tired of all the gossip around here. It's like TSL, who seem to like the gossip more than the actual skating.

This Rozanov speculations are nothing but gossip. It is just annoying.
We are better than TSL! 😄
I have always been a fan of Sasha Trusova and Alena Kostornia. In fact, Ive been a semi fan of sherbakova (like her skating not her jumps).

I think Rozanov and Dudakov know how to teach good technique, but they both understand it makes jumping quads harder so only teach it when skater/parent insists or skater already has technique within their body.

Trusova and Kostornia both had their triple technique before going to team Tutberetzi for better or for worse, and have improved some things like Lutz edges etc (no clue what Trusovas jumps were like before but know she was taught by Volkov who's now another Plushenko angel coach).

Trusova needed change, and Plushenko was the person willing to take the risk to bring her on - and Kostornia thought that if she is leaving it would be better to go where Trusova and Rozanov are rather than find new coaches and friends - that should tell you a lot about Kostornias respect for Rozanov.
Aliona was 17th at Junior Russian Nationals Then she joined TT and a few months later she was third at senior Russian Nationals blowing people away with her great skating. Coaching matters. Now she is without that security blanket of EG who aliona constantly raved about as a coach and the person. Let's see what happens to her. Reality is aliona's skill set is so good she'll still be at least a very good skater for many years. Or until she starts medical school. And she has her favorite coach to work with in young Sergei.

I remember Tat said Radionova, Fedichkina were fat, Sotnikova won't come back....
TAT calling superb athletes fat is kind of strange. It isn't it like the pot calling the kettle black? 😜

I remember what happened to Anna. That car accident in France changed everything for her career and life. Sad.

Oh we won't forget your words. And if for some reason the performances and the quality and the results aren't the where they should be for those three great TT made skaters some people here will let you know. 😜

but I think all of us here root for these three girls and want them to do great because they add so much to figure skating. Especially aliona last season was the best and most beautiful ladies figure skater in der velt (the world). Veronika really has it all. Sasha as Edwin said for a couple years was from the cosmos or something like that. She seems happy and I expect big things from her. I don't think puberty is going to hurt her but that's still up in the air. It will be so interesting seeing them develop in their new Academy. Get your popcorn ready! 😎

I’m not his fan, but I’ve always thought that, even before you started posting more in this thread.

If he has great technique, he’ll teach great technique.

On a side note: I love how Elena was so motherly with the girls! My god, she’s the woman Pluschenko’s school was missing. I watched the part of the video where she cries and hugs Veronika like 3 times. What a great acquisition for the team she was.

Plushy needs good and professional staff in the academy. He alone cannot work miracles. Elena impressed me! He will slowly build a fantastic team.
I like the way it works

I agree with you .. Plushenko is the kind of person that if he wakes up and put in this head that he will be best coach he will.. I don't know if he has the patient to wait years to rise a champion or win by playing the rules .. In that end Eteri is the master ..

The problem with the "Rozanov is the best coach TT had" argument is that there's 0 evidence for it.

Yes, he was there for a few years and he worked mainly with novices and less with juniors and seniors but Dudakov has always been known as the main jumps specialist in TT, while Rozanov seems to have been more of an assistant in the jumps aspect (helping with the fishing pole or with the basic jumps of younger skaters)
Heck, a lot of the people that now think of him as some kind of coaching prodigy didn't even know he existed before he left TT. Most of us only knew him as "the hot coach".

In any case, from what we do know about how TT works is that Eteri, Daniil and Dudakov work the most with seniors and juniors, so statements like "x skater got her good technique exclusively from Rozanov" don't even make sense, when no one actually worked exclusively with Rozanov since they started skating up until now.

ETA: It's also annoying to see the cherry picking with statements like: "Rozanov is responsible for x skater with "good" technique who convenienly also left TT but not y skater of the same age group with "bad" technique who stayed with TT.

Kostornaya did credit Rozanov for the progress on the 3a.

I think it's best to let the ice speak. You look at the packaging Zhilina has this season and it is still the Sambo70 look: the amount of transitions, the elements,... The 4T looked better than Akatieva (not just in that instance), and her 3lutz is so big it could be a quad. That should be said.

It is debatable how much came from Rozanov when he was at Khrustalny but truth is he has now learnt the Eteri way and will probably apply to all skaters he'll work at Plushenko's academy.

How exactly?

We just had Moscow Junior Championships, Zhilina skated better than Akatieva in the free and yet Sofia had the strongest score even in the free with the mistakes.

Don't get me wrong, she deserved to win cause Veronika botched the combo in the short, but in the free too with that scratchy quad toe and that 3a downgrade? I don't think so.

It's obvious Russia is still pushing Eteri skaters first and foremost even when they do worse.

I like Elena's reaction, too. It was great to see her warm reaction. Plushy said the truth there were sensations in the Academy. They are great team I believe. I don't think the lovely, heart-warming scenes were missing in the academy. If someone followed the 3 years, they remember what I'm talking about. But that is good Plushy didn't cry when Titova finished her program in last year.

Oh we won't forget your words. And if for some reason the performances and the quality and the results aren't the where they should be for those three great TT made skaters some people here will let you know.

It will happen in all cases..;) if they going to be good that is the results of TT's work if they going to be worse that is th AP's fault.
Plushy and his team are a young team they have time to prove.

By the way I think Rozanov is going to leave the academy some years time when he thinks he is ready he has chance to work alone ..

Are we talking about the elephant in the room, ie Rozanov's choreography?

It was awful, and I expect nothing better for Trusova and Kostornaia than last season, unfortunately.

Veronika would’ve won the fs if not for the late start deduction, and it was a valid call unfortunately (just like last year Kamila got one too at test skates).
Besides, I’d argue it wasn’t evident for me why both got equal PCS in the short, given Nika’s mistake, and Akatieva was, imo, better in PCS in general.

 I'm curious if Alexandra Trusova , Aliona Kostornaya go to you and want to skate in your academy wouldn't you let them in? Plushenko opened his Academy 3 years ago but this was his dream from his childhood and didn't put this in his head today morning. He received a great chance with these amazing girls because he has a big name in figure skating.

Eteri also obtains, did not give birth to her skaters. Lambiel also trains some big names now who were "ready-made" :rolleye:. What is the different?

Elena is sweet. Isn't she a mother? If so that may explain her motherly Instinct over plushies girls. :)

Evgeni Plushenko does nothing slowly. ;) but we agree that he will assemble and outstanding team. It won't happen overnight probably faster than you think. One of the reasons is he has the resources pay the best coaches to come to his academy.

I don't know what a "ready made" skater means now. Hasn't Plushenko tended to receive "ready made" skaters in a stricter sense of the word compared to Eteri? That's not a criticism, a lot of coaches do that. But Eteri hasn't (to my knowledge) obtained skaters who already had a bunch of accolades to their name (except Kanysheva maybe who switched to her after the JGPF Bronze). This is different from Plushenko, Orser, and even Raf if you consider Wagner and Rippon.
