A veerry controversial thought, I know, but people should be fans of whomever they like and want to be fans of...

That‘s a nice interview. So, Liza already has her 3A back, resurrected her biellman spin and is now training a 4S and 4T? Empress indeed. I just hope Mishin is smart about her layout and we don‘t have to see the return of that dreadful 3Lz+2A sequence.

I thought her back was never going to allow her to do Biellmann again. But I would assume it’s now or never for Liza, so she’s going for it. Good for her!
4S and 4T will come with time, I’m sure she’s capable. But I agree on the combo part.

Such is the same for Zhenya... here I was thinking we’d never see a bielmann again. But it may be that a break from training gives an injury proper time to heal, so perhaps this is the cause?

At least for Liza, I want to see the scratch spin gone. Hate it. She is so good, so I don’t know why she cheapens her choreography with 2002 trends.

On the choreography side, apparently Liza took a lot of liberty this time, as in Mishin gave her some more freedom. So idk whether to be scared or happy because I do not know who was originally making some of her choreographic choices.

I know Liza seems to drift to the more “scandalous” images but I’d like to see something a little different on her this season. She has the capacity, and as was said “it’s now or never”

The first video presented here is much more informative than this gif. Do you seriously want convince with the help of this that it was a quad twisted according to the rules? ? ?
In the 30s of the last century, a book called "One Hundred Scientists Against Einstein" was published in Nazi Germany. Having learned about this, Albert Einstein answered briefly: "If I were wrong, one would be enough" (c)
This video is informative because recording camera directed exactly along the jump direction and you can see exact angle of the blade on the landing. And that angle is less than 90 degrees.
Nazis and Einstein have nothing to do with your lies.

Quite right. It's so bad when people cheer the coach and not the athlete like they are toys.
I don't like it when the coaches become more famous than the students, it's not the coaches who ice skate and win medalist

Ohh no, seems like you've joined us when a new cult is forming:
The Cult of Handsome Fairytale Prince Rozanov. Triple Axel and Quad jedi master. Point Maximizing Layout Designer and Rising Star Choreographer.

[This is a joke. No one should take offence]

On the matter of Akatieva I agree. She performs better, esp. the first half of the FS and I agree she should have better PCS. But I also completely agree that she doesn’t jump as well and seeing the GOE for her jumps vs. Zhilina’s made me question the scoring. Even if they were not UR Zhilina still has better jumps.
Well, you have a definition of GOE bullets made by ISU. The reason why Akatieva got some better GOE than Zhilina is because she was able to incorporate her jumps better into her whole skating performance. Jumps and tech elements are not a thing isolated from the whole programme, they are part of it, and they are rewarded in GOE based on it too. TES is not a score which judge only 'technicality', like PCS is not a score which judge only 'artistry'.

Just the Godwin's law in practise, not an unusual phenomenon here.

P.S. With all this endless which side is better I'm afraid the original enjoyment from skating and performances is somehow overhadowed with the battles.

That is my biggest lament. We are here to talk about skating, not to make lists of which Golden Skate posters are stupid and evil.

That said ;) , I don't really see why someone can't be a fan of a particular coach, coaching school or training method just the same as someone can be a fan of an individual skater. If you liked Stephane Lambiel, for instance, as a performer, why wouldn't you cheer for him as a coach and wish him and his students well?

A completely incorrect affirmation in this case (besides, on your hypha there is no moment of touching the blade and ice) This angle in such a situation is the most unfavorable in terms of measuring the angle of contact (the most favorable conditions are when the line of the blade at the moment of touching and the line of sight coincide or are close ).
Photo provided by Flanker, optimal in terms of determining the angle when touching:
I'm right, again, this is even several frames earlier:

For calling ir UR from this angle it would be absolutely necessary to see the lest side of the skate in some amount. You can't change the reality just by words.

BTW it should be reminded that at first I didn't see Sofia's 3A as downgraded but after closer look I took my words back, the call was right? I can see and accept true mistakes when they really are there.

It's just not entirely clear to me why he made the wrong conclusion based on the photo, which he himself posted. ;)
I will add that for some reason you persistently call my messages a lie, which (in my opinion) implies a deliberate distortion of information. Based on your attempts to present distorted information, I believe I have every reason to call you a liar.

Actually many users, who even weren't as much supportive to TT, just don't see them as the training dummy are disappearing from the forum unfortunately. Among others I miss Moriel, Dante, Orlov, Atsumiri. Some of them provided translations, insights and other things. Others just restricted themselves to the fanfests. the thread is more polarizing now than it was, I may even start to miss the times when it was Eteri vs. Brian Orser :)
Wherr are they all? Orlov Moriel etc were great and so informative. But things have changed here. Mods never used to allow posters to be...oh well what the use.

What???? No. No! Don't compare me to Edwin. :frown: You have never read such hateful posts from me as they were Edwin's. He/she roughly insulted Plushenko not as a coach but as a human being. Don't you remember ? Yes, he was informative on his own way but his comments were outrageous and fake.

I don't understand this debate...:scratch2: What is everyone's problem? We didn't see the skaters' program yet......
Your devotion to PA is like Edwins for TT. I tried to give you a compliment of sorts.

I still cant believe how critical posters here are of these girls who did not compete for 6 months. No one can be in top form now. 2 months from now should be different.

With more "liar" callings we will turn this into a 19th century when calling a gentleman a liar was a mortal insult that could have been satisfied only in duel. Sabres, pistols or skates?

The mods do the best they can. We have been overwhelmed by the ill will that poisons the Russian Ladies' thread. It is impossible to keep up with all the posts that are in violation of the Golden Skate posting rules. :(

O tempora o mores.

This is a huge surprise to me, as I always thought the Salchow is one of her weakest jumps. I don't believe she even did a 3S internationally last season, which is one of the reasons she couldn't maximize her layout? I always thought the lutz and toe-loop were her strongest, and she struggles with her flip edge and the salchow.

Working on a 4S when you haven't done a 3S at all the previous season is a strange choice to me, but if she can land it then more power to !
