My heart breaks for Sinitsyna. I am fearing the worst, but let's hope she's ok for competing at the Russian Cup. Which stages were she supposed to be in??
First and last. Maybe she can be moved to the second one, it's not too crowded and almost a month later?

Hopefully.

Unfortunately, Sinitsyna seems to me to be the vulnerable type. Psychologically. If she got some demons in her head she needs to get them out - now.
Figure skating can be so nerve wrecking sometimes as a viewer - I can only imagine how it would be for the competitiors.

I was really looking forward to seeing Ksenia, she is a favorite of mine. She always seems to have such great programs. Hopefully, she will recover soon!

Well, this was not a surprise at all.

Hopefully Anna's going to do well, as well as Kamila.
I'm following Anna since forever, but I've never been so short on info before the season. On most of the other girls as well.
Are we going to see any quads and triple axels at all?

Who knows what quarantine did to those young phenoms. I'm very excited, but also wary that it may be disappointing test skates in technical regard.

I'm not expecting the same level as last year at all, they have only been on the ice about a month and a half-after a long layoff. But it will still be fun to see where they are at, new programs etc., I do hope people cut them some slack, I doubt any of them are 100% ready to go for the season.

Where are you getting that information that they have only been on the ice about a month and a half? Training camp isolation for the national team started mid to late May there was video of both Shcherbakova and Kostornaia there, its September 11th, based on that they have been on the ice for roughly 3 months.

Not only quarantine, but also puberty must be an issue. There is no way to keep surpressing it at 16-17, they must be fighting hard for jumps in every practice, I guess.

I just hope that it won't be always like this from now on. We don't even know the music

When I think national team I'm thinking like the team that gets funding not team necessarily going to the Olympics/Worlds. I think Medvedeva wont be bumped off the national team for funding by next year but I don't see her getting any boost to prop her up for the Olympics team. She's struggled the last 2 years and while yes she did get to Worlds in 2019 it was in a relatively weak Russian ladies field.

It's not necessary to prop her up. The other will regress. There are not international competitions at this point. Maybe only worlds will happen. So in the eyes of an international judge panel, their PCS is still what it was last year. And the next season will start from where it left, except the Olympic boost RusFed will give at that season.

Technically I don't see them land 3-4 quads neither this season and even more next (Valieva included which is a very injury prone skater). Kostornaia can be a player but she is injury prone too. And in an intense season like the Olympic, I don't know how much she can be "trusted"

So in the end there are not many contenders as we think. The first-year juniors next season? they will barely score more than 220-5 points if they have one quad.

Tuktamysheva will be left with the eternal feeling that she can make the team. Except if Sambo remains with no skaters (which is possible).

Btw, why do we see so much criticism for "full blade take off" on flip and lutz, but almost none about "toe pick take off" on the 2A/3S/3Lo? I think the clean edge take off produces prettier jumps, much like clean toe picks... But we usually only see critique about "full blades". I think we eventually came to accept that clean edge take offs are hard to do, but we see so much criticism on full blade take offs nonetheless? Is it because it's more recent to see such take offs + easier for casual fans to detect in video?

We do see some clean edge 2A and 3S after all... Can't say that about 3Lo though I guess.

Yes, and I didn't understand at all..While the judges , the ISU don't care about it that is not mistake.. In many skaters's case just custome technique

Yeah cause it's very shocking to see those kind of improvements at that age with the russian ladies.

it's very admirable and probably she cannot do it in other coaching teams in Russia. But that 3A hasn't helped her so far that was my point.

Well there are politics behind that too, cause last season she finished 7th at Nationals and won Cup Final without the 3a. Outside of Russia one gold and two silver.

The girl is delivering, she is willing to improve, she is fighting for her chance, RusFed should give her one now though.

I will be very glad if RusFed gives her a chance. But they won't.
