Well in my quest to find out who was replacing Nam and Lefteris at Skate America I have come across some changes for the Grand Prix Series. This information came from the isu website.

It appears that Stacey Kemp and David King from Great Britian have replaced Putnam and Wirtz at Skate America. Does anyone know anything about this team? I have never heard of them. There doens't seem to be a replacement for Nam and Lefteris yet. Also Elena Efaieva and Alexei Menshikov from Russia have been scratched off the list for Skate America. So I guess two more pairs teams will get the chance if they replace them at Skate America.

Lefevre and Markov have been scratched from Skate Canada. Also Olga Akimova and Alexander Shakalov from UZB have been scratched from NHK Trophy.

The following people have been added but I am not sure who they are replacing.

Song Gao from China has been added to Trophee (yeah I am not typing the rest...he will be in France)

Jamal Othman from Switzerland has been added to Skate Canada.

Laura Lepisto from Finland has been added to Sakte Canada.

Some of these things some of you may have already known but I just wanted to keep everyone update.

will the pair replacing Nam/ Leftheris be american? Can it be "any" pair? I would assume that Vise/Trent of another team b would be choosen....

USFS' International Assignments page added MeeRan Trombley/Laureano (Larry) Ibarra to Skate America on Sept. 11 as Nam/Leftheris' replacement.

Here's MeeRan Trombley/Laureano Ibarra's profile from 2007 Nationals where they placed 11th in Senior Pairs in their first season together:

Trombley competed internationally in junior pairs for Canada back in the fall of 2004 before she switched to the USA. Ibarra's former partner was Tiffany Vise, with whom he competed at 2003 Junior Worlds.

Trombley/Ibarra finished 4th in both the Senior Pairs SP and FS at the Indy Challenge pairs monitoring competition in August, which is likely how they got the Skate America assignment -- results and photos from that competition can be found at: http://www.iwsafsc.org/indy_chal_2007.htm

Great opportunity for the new team to strut their stuff on the big stage. Good luck to them.

So, what is MeeRan Trobley's citizenship situation, if she was born in South Korea and eligible to skate for both the U.S. and Canada?

i watched there sp from worlds on cbc country canada and they were doing side by side 2loops in the sp :disapp: ....not very impressive

But they do not have the amendments for 2007 GPs which were listed by Sillinlove. Good website though.

Joe

You dont need that ;) If you click on skaters on the left side you can go into the country listing and pull any skater you want out.

The webmistress has been busy adding on results and with the speed the GP assignments are changing it make sence to only update every once in a while ;)

Another update
The pairs team of Laura Megieleri and Ondrej Hotarek from Italy have been added to Skate America.

The are (at least up until this season) Britain's only senior pair team. They've been together for a number of years and have trained out of Blackburn and have also spent time training in canada - i believe with Sale and Pelletier's old coach who's name escapes me right now.

They have made steady progress over the years in a number of areas but have seemingly not upgraded their SBS jumps for several seasons. The have used SBS double loops in the SP for a number of seasons now and only add a double flip sequence in the LP (which still begs the question why not use th emore difficult flip in the SP for a tiny bit more points). I have heard that they can both land double axels by themselves but i think they struggle doing them SBS. I don not think they can land triples solo at all.

They were, as at last season using throw triple loop and throw triple flip as their throw jumps and their lifts and twists are getting better and better.

They don't set the world on fire in terms of presentation or artistry but it's still better than not having a senior pair competition at all at nationals!
