I hope what you say about TAT is not true. That would cut deep for Zhenya. But some of the things TAT has said about Radianova and others are terrible. I do not see anything coming like that from her about Zhenya. TAT knows she would feel the wrath.

Maybe Zhenya will surprise all at cup 1. :pray:

TAT made that face, but then Zhenya left the arena with her on Sunday. It doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe her face was of being sad about Zhenya’s performance...?

TAT is an enigma.

I’m gonna be very honest: if she skates like she did at Test Skates, she won’t qualify.

And I don’t think someone from TCC would be able to go to Russia, because the borders are closed. Who would leave their country knowing they wouldn’t be able to come back?

There’s also the financial problem of it - having someone work only with her at Russia would cost lots of money. I don’t think she can afford that much.

I’m very worried about her health, because her back is weak and she’ll be skating - she could lose her movements if she continues skating on this health condition. I know she wants to be brave and strong, but it’s not time to play heroes. Her health needs to be her priority - the problem is that if she rests heal at least a little bit of what can be healed, she loses her funding.

Sad. And worrying.

Also, TAT‘s always like this - she stops supporting skaters once they‘re no longer useful to fit her agenda. See Radionova, for example. Her look after Zhenya‘s SP was obvious - her support is done. I agee with you Fluture. I think the only thing they have done is coaching her under the Russian system that is incompatible with the Zhenya situation. So they are also partly to blame for this situation. Their school is the Russian school, when an athlete is injured they don't cure it, they throw it away and look for another. Other than I think CSKA provided her with ice and not much more than that. And then there are also other interests that have already been mentioned here and that also influence.

Orser has said that she needs general training and this is healthy physical training off the ice and in Russia it does not exist. She doesn't have the means to train there in the way she does at TCC. To me his words clearly refer to that. Only the TCC training will allow Zhenya to continue in the sport that is the reality.

She needs to understand that and WD to RC. I hope her coach and her mother advise her in this direction and that she makes the decision not to participate. Competing in these conditions would be like suicide. It doesn't matter if there are no nationals for her. I understand that this way she will not receive funding next year. But still I think that money can be obtained in another way or reach some kind of agreement with her coach.

RusFed and the others act like there are going to be European and World Championships this season. They are worried about an Olympic Games that most likely will not take place. Perhaps they think that since they organize competitions with public without protection measures, all those competitions will exist. But the world does not behave the same as them.

There is no point risking her health now. The main thing is to recover and then come back. I hope she can go to Canada as soon as possible in some way. I wonder if for medical reasons she could enter Canada? Someone know that?
 
Not to bring other skaters in this to hate—more curiosity about Zhenya’s options. Zagitova did not compete in RusNats last season, but is still on the national team this year. Is she still receiving funding then, despite not having been at RusNats? Is there anyway Zhenya could not be at RusNats but still make the team/funding?

When yesterday the first article from Riasport was published claiming "sources" new about Zhenya's switch to Eteri I thought it was just the usual cashgrab article.. but then the article with RusFed's president came, with his usual "I don't know anything" answer and I knew it was real. He always gives this answer when something is going on.. I was so shocked, I could not do anything yesterday, my concentration was gone.
 
Guys I'm beyond shooketh. I was away from insta for literally 2h only due to having a long presentation at work, and then I got in the taxi, opened insta to check and the first post was that meme with the coffee overspilling. I thought it was a joke, kept scrolling, and I couldn't believe the number of posts about it. I was like the Big Lebowski confused lol.

It makes sense in context because she DOES need a coach with her, that's clear, so I thought it might be temporary. But it's permanent! I immediately came to GS haha. Even if I don't agree with her returning to Eteri, I'll obviously still support her and wish the best for her. Do you remember when there were rumors of her going to Plushenko? We were so innocent.

I woke up to it! Like I said in another thread, I saw Jackie Wong's "Gasp in Spanish" on twitter and thought Anna left. Then I saw the real news. I was like "it's too early in the morning for this"
I don't understand how Eteri can act as if she didn't say awful things about Evgenia like 3 years ago. And apparently she hashtagged her instagram post #thingshappen. It's all so much
 
I also was away from my phone yesterday, and then I opened sports.ru just to read some news, some match results...and I just stared at my phone. I'm not going to say that I'm thrilled, definitely not, but of course I will support Evgenia.

well... since I write that after test skates .. I think I should go to a casino and try my luck ( I was hopping for a duo of coachs)

First the change only proves that zhenya is a fighter and she really wants to win or at least have a true shot even if that means that she will skate with pain (and she knows it)... why the change now:
- I think she realize that she needs a present coach (and brian won't be there even if she loves him) and she doesn't have time to learn with another ( mishin would be my first pick .. women and jumps). Every competition, she would be alone (shoma uno last year)
- RusFed won't give her any benefits if she isn't training with a russian coach or in russia
- money .. it's not easy to live in another country ..
- TAT .. well I think zhenya wouldn't go to anywhere without the blessing of TAT ( she is the true empress)
- Mother/daughter ... I think that is what Eteri/zhenya are .. when you are broke you go to your mother to heal .. when eteri said that she as a little bit physcological broken .. then understood I she should go to Eteri
 
How is fluture?

Look I saw the signs of this last weekend with TAT and EG hugging and EG cheering on Zhenya. I didnt want to cause a riot here or RLT so I didnt say anything. But the signs were there for this unlikley reunion. But the wrldwide pandemic changed alot of things in life and sports. Zhenya could never get back to TCC in Toronto so what was she supposed to do? Stay with Buyanova and TAT? Nyet!

Fans supported her departure from TT now Zhenya deserves the same support for doing what she has to in her heart do for her career. She wont be pushed around. If she injured and cant perform she wont skate. She is more in charge than she used to be. But now Evgenia can transition into whatever else in her career after the next olympic cycle. And who know lighting may strike and Zhenya could be really good again. Thats what she is counting on. She did not want to leave Brian and she did not want to go live and train in St. Petersburg so what was she to do? She outgrew TT in 2018 now she's back looking for success she felt no other team besides TCC could give her. Zhenyas hands were tied. Remember root for the skater not the coach just like before 2018. That will make this easier.

What a crazy couple of days! Can anyone else not stop checking their phone to see if there are any more updates or clips of them? I still don’t know how I feel about it all. I hope she mends and settles well into her old/new training team. One thing for sure is that Eteri won’t want this match to fail! I’m excited/nervous to see the results. Evgenia will always be my favourite and I’ll be rooting for her.
