Why don't you think so? Lol or did you just say that without knowing anything about Kolyada?

Also people are forgetting how new Plushenkos school is. It's literally impossible for him to have coached someone from childhood to become a champion because they won't even be old enough yet lol. His youngsters are doing really well if that's anything to go by. Kovalev just won both Moscow's and Sryzan's comps and Titova is doing so well and won a bunch of comps last season beating even the tutberidze students. So maybe time with tell how good his school will be.
I will gladly give the Plushenko academy all the time it needs to become successful. Evgeni wants it yesterday but it takes a little longer than that.

Also I don't want any criticisms of him to make people think I won't root for his skaters. I like the ones I know of.

I believe in Misha 2.0 but this was just at test skates. His problem under the old team was the lack of consistency in competition.
Yep. But Scott512 appears not to have been aware that Misha only switched to Mishin this past off-season. He probably doesn't even know the name of his old coach.

Edit: I see he backtracked and realised this fact. However this does not explain why he said that Kolyada is not thriving under Mishin. It's too early to tell.

My point is that i am wasting my time
You people see right there in front of you how "fans" manipulate Kostornaya words to fit their agenda
And you don't bother asking why

Let me tell you one last time. The words matter. They change the gist changes
People say the words she said when they can't deny something. They damn sure know that person is right
Ok, words matter. But when you're being this abstract with the discussion taking place it isn't easy to understand you. If I have it correctly....you're saying the words chosen by Aliona "Well, not that..." means there is a non-grata list? If she was being truthful she would be more firm and say a direct "No"? If that is your argument then I disagree.

Aliona never said she didn't believe there are skaters that shouldn't be skating with the group and that it was overcrowded. However by using Yulia and Evgenia, Eteri made it sound like Aliona didn't want to skate with her rivals. Aliona said her motivations were to do with safety and ability to practice, not that she didn't want to see the face of skater XYZ on the rink with her.

Plushenko’s school is only 3 years old, so I think it doesn’t make much sense to compare his coaching track record with Eteri’s.

Re: Alina’s message, notice how Plushenko’s main selling point is lots of ice space and foreign specialists, not contracts or sponsorship deals which is what he was accused of. Now I have no doubts that Sasha didn’t leave for money and I hope people will not claim this anymore
You make good points in your post .

Of course he's going to say that. But money is a factor too and I wish I had more money. Figure skaters careers are so short so I want them to maximize their physical potential on the ice and their bank account potential too.

The money Nastya parents paid for her career so far is unbelievable.

If Evgeni keeps bringing skaters in he's going to run out of skating room like you know who. ;)

And I'm all for the skaters making as much money as possible. Sasha has two new endorsements in the three months she's been there and Aliona has her first actual sponsor. Most skaters struggle financially and their parents struggle financially and it's terrible. If dealing with this legendary skaters Academy gets them more money they would at TT or any other academy then that's good.

She called her to perform in the show in old chats. Didn't read it? And she invited her to the ice rink's opening.

I'm missing some fresh news? When did Zhenya say this?
idk if it was Zhenya or Eteri who said it but her whole return back to TT was initiated by Eteri, who contacted her and suggested they meet after Test Skates.

Alina doesn't need contracts or sponsorship deals, so they have no reason to use that card with her anyway.

Test skates proves little double F. But I root for him he's a super guy and I hope the change works but it's too soon to say. And the professor has obviously had massive success with men over the years even though it was a long time ago. Alexeis Urmanov and yagudin and Evgeni plushenko back-to-back-to-back is phenomenal and I would say very Sasha Anna and aliona like if you will from one coach. ;) Mishin made Yagudin before TAT got the credit.
Well, I'll quote you again here:
Thriving under Mishin? I don't think so.
Test skates do not prove that he's thriving under Mishin, but neither do they prove that he isn't. It would have been correct to say 'it's too soon to say' in the above post, but you didn't do that until we chased you up on that point.
Anyway, have fun speculating on the ladies. Ciao.

You're absolutely right. But what if Plushenko really throws himself into work as a coach? Nobody knows whether it will work, but if it does: Would it be bad to invest the "finished elite athletes" with money, perfect conditions and advertising contracts, and on top of that to work with them (be it personally or through the coaching team put together)? And if so, WHO would it be bad FOR and why? Nobody can see into the future. The project can fail completely, but you can also fail in TT if you can no longer cope with the training methods used there. And honestly. When I see training videos from Krustalny, Eteri's face and intonation, when she talks to the girls, I feel icecold. success is all well and good, but it would be nice to see that success is possible even under humane conditions.
Let's just wait and see. The girls can still go back, as we now know.
That's an IF for me right now, that's the thing. I feel like success isn't entirely about perfect conditions, new rinks or young coaches. It has many different factors, imo.
I think if his goal is truly to bring the best potential out of his students, if he's invested in them and his intentions are in helping them to aim for podium, then he'll achieve the success. If it's bringing big names for his school to make it a brand and make it a commercial success, then I would be worried for the girls. But as I said, only time will tell where his heart truly is at this point.

Yeah, because Alina already has very big sponsors and huge international contracts, she clearly isn’t lacking anything in terms of advertising opportunities. On contrary, she picks and chooses what to advertise. He just doesn’t have that much to offer to her to begin with, except for diminutive pet names, that’s why she can easily reject him.

She doesn't skate with Trusova now though
Whatever, she began to dictate to the Team. Like she is special and in need of special treatment
Somehow others had no such problems
The message from Tutberidze was that people change with time and success

See, now I think you're absolutely reaching. Aliona doesn't skate with Sasha, so what? You don't know that Aliona is the reason for it.
Using your method of reading between the lines, it would be much simpler for Eteri in her Instagram post to have said "Aliona will not skate with Anna/Kamila". But she didn't say that, and we both know why.

That's the part that seems questionable to me. Do people believe that Plushenko can call up the CEO of Nike and say, hey, how about giving my skater a million dollar endorsement contract?

Maybe he can provide skaters with opportunities to perform in shows that he himself produces. Still, I don't think of Plushenko as a financial or PR genius, however much money his wife has. Isn't Alina Zagitova the #1 Russian skater in terms of publicity and endorsement opportunities?

Not Nike but he does have contact with some sponsors... Kostornaya recently signed with two of them; R.O.C.S, a toothpaste brand, which appears to be one of the Academy's sponsors and Karisma, a clothing brand that also sponsors Titova.

Something to brighten the mood a bit 😂

The comments about the levitating camel spin, and alternative technique (which involves Eteri glaring at the earth until it rotates beneath her) were especially amusing. This thread is the only positive thing to come out of this whole stupid sideshow.

I was surprised to see Alexei Urmanov coaching quite a few ladies at Stage One. Both juniors and seniors.

Has he something going on? Will he be the next "great" coach? He is Sankt Petersburg based right?

It's too soon to say FF.

You can believe what you want. Test skates is basically a practice session dressed up. Ciao.

Very fair points and very interesting points. The crowded conditions at TT has its pluses and minuses for all the skaters.

For me I will still enjoy watching Aliona skate more than anyone and I hope she's in top form whatever this season brings. I also hope she gets the best triple axel in ladies figure skating back too.

What I like about Plushenko is he's giving his fellow coaches recognitions - some 20-ish coach like Mikhailov is listed as Sasha's second coach, having spotlight durning test skates :ROFLMAO: . Can you imagine that could ever happen to team TT? Rozanov, for example, never got the spotlight he deserved. It's not always or only about money but respect, too.

Edit: I think for Aliona, it could be the same case. When she (and other girls) addressed the issue of sharing rink with 10 y/o, she wouldn't be that frustrated if she was answered in a more respectful way (like "we understand your request, however..." rather than a straight "get out")
