It will be very interesting to see how the RusFed will judge Kamila against the 3A at Nationals. Can Anna get her third title? Can Sasha or Alëna rise to the occasion? Or will Kamila outscore them all...
I’m personally rooting for Anna as 3x national champion :) It will be very hard to outscore a clean Trusova, and a clean Kamila with strong backing, but if anyone can rise to the occasion, it’s Anna.

It’s interesting because the past 2 seasons, I was rooting for Aliona all season, but this season Anna is my clear favorite of 3A + Kamila.

Uhh...

Sorry to break it to you but skaters don't get their technique when learning triples. It's earlier. Triples just are triples. They do singles and doubles before them.
In this case, Anna likely did develop foundational technique with Eteri before leaving to learn her triples.

However, in general, all Eteri skaters have different technique. Each was taught by their foundational coaches, the same is true for other international coaches like Mie Hamada. Satoko, Rika and Mana Kawabe all have different jump technique. Brian Orser's students, too. Although, certainly Ghislain and Dudakov do make small changes to technique when students arrive to improve quality and consistency. Plushenko is doing the same. He has made small changes to Sasha's technique. I appreciate the fact that she doesn't bend down so much between her 4T and 3T in the combo now. It makes it a more appealing jump. (not trying to praise Plushenko here... I don't have any opinion on the ongoing ridiculous coach battle)

I'm excited to finally see video of Konstantinova's programs; I know that consistency isn't really her forte but she's a really lovely skater. Would love to see her end up on the podium, which I don't think third would be a stretch for her to get.
I think it'll probably be between Zhenya and Frolova for third, but Stasya could get in there if she skates well enough. I'm looking forward to seeing her too!

Yes, it will be great to see Konstantinova too!

I am a bit worried for Nugumanova and Talalaykina, they will probably have to settle for 6th and 7th, which will not be enough in the long run.
Sidorova, who did well last year, might get in there too.

Sorry, whilst that's partially true it's almost not true at all. Hammer toes usually appear during times of triples, and whilst you usually have prerotation in your body before then the level of prerotation and blade assist adjusts when you learn triples.

Furthermore, you can change your edge at the point of learning triples (of course correcting the double) - I went from a flutz to a decent outside edge when I landed triple Lutz...

We can go even further. Veronika and Aliona Zhilina have different technique, although both were taught by their mom. Mishin’s students all have different technique too.
It’s almost as if... kids learn things differently and aren’t machines.

Another former student ruining the myth of Khrustal'nyi Mordor :)
"WE MUST GO OUR OWN WAY, AND NOT TRY TO KEEP UP WITH LITTLE GIRLS WITH QUADRUPLE JUMPS." DARIA PANENKOVA'S INTERVIEW

- How do you remember Eteri Tutberidze at work?

- She brings each student to their ideal self - she helps a person squeeze out the best that they can from themselves. Eteri Georgievna is hardworking and fair. She helps you get in the right mindset through conversations, sometimes may nudge you when you can't pull yourself together. She herself does not force the students to do anything - she only explains why they need it.

The scenario is very repetitive - I didn't listen to the coaches advices, now I understand what they were telling me...

I wish Daria good future as a coach.

As for Khrustalnyi Mordor, interesting thing is that actually there is a number of former pupils of Eteri who are now coaches in Khrustalny. If they return there, it actually doesn't seem to be hell on earth

Regardless of whether Crystal is closer to Hell or Heaven, I would like to point out that causality is not given here. An example to illustrate this: It is not uncommon for people who were abused as a child to later become the perpetrator themselves and commit abuse. Or look at women who, as girls, had to endure the ordeal of circumcision and who later still have their own daughters genitally mutilated. According to your logic, one could also say "Then it couldn't have been that bad."

It's not the first time when someone comes with that, actually. Whenever skaters like Polina, Daria etc. made a positive mention of Eteri, there is always someone like you who rushes with the explanation how we should look on it from the "right angle".

BTW I've some knowledge of victimology regardless, so it's not an unknown phenomenon to me, but making those assumptions specially in this case and not anywhere else is just purposive here and witness more about those who make them than about the state of thigs.

Is this a way to say that Tsurskaya for example is also an abuser because she went back to Tutberidze as a coach?
