Were Daniil and Eteri inspired by this to create Kamila’s costume?
I think they were more inspired by this: A snake Bolero program at Ice Age kids :)

Kamila's costume is so beautiful! There is cobra's head with her emerald eyes, white fangs and red tongue -

This program is definitely the best I've ever seen.
Interesting! I actually thought she was a butterfly and that Bolero was somehow a more fierce sequel of Exogenesis last year (it had butterfly themed dress) because the back kind of looks like butterfly wing patterns.

Believe me Plushy with that iconic moves wants to peeve his haters. Probably Sasha and Plush imagined the reaction when they decided to use it. And they laughed at them:wink:
I mean, it just doesn't look like she's comfortable doing it. And I generally don't like teenagers doing moves like that.

Tarasova mentioned during the Live yesterday she cannot understand why Sasha's stepseq was only level 3.

She must not have noticed the clearly hopped turns.

Tarasova mentioned during the Live yesterday she cannot understand why Sasha's stepseq was only level 3. According to her it should be level 4 and she wanted to talk with judges

Most of the calls on spins and steps sequence were very confusing, i've to say. So many level 2 steps sequence for some reason.

Hey folks, this is yet another reminder to please put competition information and Play-by-plays in the appropriate Forum. In this case, the Cup of Russia skates belong in the forum below during the event.

We also ask that if there is any news, interviews, or other tidbits, to please start a new thread in the Edge for those members who don't frequent this particular forum :)

It is quite easy to lose levels on a Step Sequence. One hop on a turn or a wrong edge on a turn and the turn does not count and therefore the level drops.

One example is Yuzuru Hanyu's SP at Skate Canada. Brian and Yuzuru laugh and explain in the K&C that Yuzuru messed up his cluster and he will likely lose a level. Things like that happen very quickly and frequently.

At some competitions (I believe from Japan) there was a very informative score box on screen which immediately showed the GOE of elements.
Having step sequences somewhat better evaluated in real time on the score box will perhaps make their rewarding by the judges and controversy over the final score more transparent. But we could ask the same for 'edge cam'.

Given how the bonus system in Russian Cup events work, you can really earn a few extra marks by training step sequences to perfection.
In the fight for the medals, even the smallest score advantage can make a difference.

Sasha has improved so much (with plenty of work to go of course) and I’m so happy to see her take gold again! Hopefully this gives her a much needed confidence boost, you can tell she works so hard.

I feel so sad for Kamila. Aliona is my favorite skater but I can’t decide among the rest who I’d like to see win more. They are all so unique and talented that I want all of them to win. Which is of course a contradiction to the nature of competition and can’t happen but still... She looked so upset at the end of her skate, and really it was hers to win if she was clean. It makes me feel the way I felt for Alysa Liu in the JGPF last year. Kamila has far too much pressure on her and I really hope she can handle it.

I really don’t understand Daria’s packaging?? She’s capable of so much more. Her PCS should’ve been higher but given the nature of the scoring yesterday I will consider it in part an equalizer that Sasha scored so high. And maybe that’s the way they were addressing the almost universal complaints. They cannot change the old scores only try to recalibrate in the free.

At this moments, her quads looks weaker than at this time of last season - only 4T stable left, 3Lz-3Lo wasn't landed, spins and stsq are worse, less transitions, fs dress is from last season, choreo is so plushy. I wouldn't call it 'improved'.
1. Sure, she didn't quite get the 4Lz in the actual program, but she landed a great one in warmup so she's definitely still capable of doing it. Her 4T also looks much bigger than it was last season, she seems to be jumping it from her legs more.
2. IIRC, she mentioned in an interview that her 3Lz-3Lo is very consistent in practice so she was surprised at her mistake here. Again, she landed a beautiful one at test skates so she can obviously still do it.
3. She only wore the red GoT dress because her actual dress isn't ready yet. She'll have it for her next competition.

At skate Canada last year, Sasha got a stsq2 in the short, and a level 3 in the free. And in the free, her camel spin was also level 3. So she's always be susceptible to losing levels. Its early days yet and she'll likely improve.
