Nope Zhang had a hand down on her 3f-3t combo. Miki's fall sounds awful - they had to stop the music :(

Ashconrad,
Thanks for the posting the scores. Are you at the rink or watching on television? How is the crowd reation to the skaters? Do they appear to havve any favorites? Any surprise performances, good or bad, so far?

Just finished watching.
USA girls really rock!
Mao did not do Triple combination, just triple flip, but her dress is very pretty.
Still, she has problems with flutz. I still prefer her SP last year.Miki's fall seems really hurt. It is funny that news reporter asked her what is the theme this year and she answered "sexy" Racheal did triple triple (two foot at triple toe)

Johnny is also pretty good. Takahashi two footed most of his jumps -_-. Did I forget someone ?
Oh ,yes Mirai fell twice maybe from tireness of JGP and Caroline was great, Japanese commentator said she is brilliant and the corwd cheered at the pearl spin. My impression is that caraoline's song is too heavy for 14 years old girl. (Gypsy theme). Suizu was also great and did not fall even once and complete all of her triples.

Tomorrow is exhibition gala.^^

I think this would be better perspective:

Ladies SP
Flatt - 53/78
Mao - 60.42
Caroline - 56.78
Miki - 46.54

Ladies LP
Fumie - 90.15
Bebe - 92.48
Mirai - 85.96
Suizu - 87.79

Gentlemen SP
Nakiniwa - 58.24
Nanri - 51.57
Weir - 73.90
Bradley - 49.56

Gentlemen LP
Machida - 102.34
Takahashi - 122.83
Carriere - 122.39
Abbott - 116.96

What do all those above numbers mean?

For me: It's early in the season but
The magic nos. in future competitions for the Ladies: SP=60 for Men: SP=70
magi numbers for Ladies: LP=90 for Men: LP=120. These magic numbers for me just represent the minimum to attain to be competitive.

Wheeeee Bebe.:)

Nope Zhang had a hand down on her 3f-3t combo. Miki's fall sounds awful - they had to stop the music :(

Additional notes on ladies: Not the best event, but more a reflection of not quite trained programs at this point in the season.

Mirai had a few mistakes on her jumping passes.

Ando fell on the lutz in her combo, laid on the ice for a bit and then skated down the ice to where her flip would have been in the program. She then skated over to the referee's table. Eventually, her music was restarted, and she was allowed to pick up her program just prior to the flip,

Zhang had a hand down on her 3F-3T combo with the T underrotated abit.

Flatt had good 3Lz-3T (not two footed as previously described) but she did have a bobble into the entry on her combo spin at the end of the prgm.

Bebe had a few mistakes as well in her jumping passes. But, all said and done, the US ladies pulled it out and won.

Mao is exquisite, but she's still a big flutzer. Don't like the way Johnny Weir arranged his three jump passes in a row...

Are there videos of other performances besides Johnny's SP?

I like his SP. The choreography seems a bit bare-boned, especially through the jumping passes, though the footwork sequence is nice. Maybe he will add more choreography when he has had more time with this program.

Not sure I like his three jumping passes all one after another, either. But if it means that it helps him getting focused and landing all his big jumps, then I say go for it! Better have all your excitement in one go at the start, instead of disappointment splattered all over the program. ;)
