Interview with Rafael Aryutunyan: " Sasha is doing all right": Arutyunyan on the similarity of Trusova and Chen's training and the education of figure skaters in the USA "

Why this unflattering photo with the ill fitting dress?

" This is far removed from figure skating. " Trankov - about the confrontation between Plyushchenko and Tutberidze on Instagram

Two-time Olympic champion 2014 in Sochi and coach Maksim Trankov spoke about the conflict between Yevgeniy Plyushchenko and Eteri Tutberidze on social networks.

-- For me, what is happening is very far from figure skating. In general, I forgot about the women's singles - they call me constantly, I say that I don't follow iy. Yes, I look at the results, who took what place, hear about conversations over the results of short programs ... It's hard to be in figure skating and not hear that. But it doesn't concern me.

- Yevgeniy Plyushchenko believes that such scandals as in figure skating move the sport forward.
-- Any coin has two sides. You know who is interested. Yes, bad PR is PR too. Let's take a philosophical look: since it is not beauty that gains popularity, but scandals, this personifies our society. Yes, it is clear that if you eat shit with a spoon on Instagram, you will gain 2 million subscribers, and if you feed stray dogs, then 200 people. If so, then this is a mirror of our society.

This thread is getting repetitive, I think we should move on to a different topic.

I'm curious about choreography - like for teams without an in-house choreographer how much input does a coach have? I often hear posters say a choreo has been "Mishinised". Is Mishin alone in tweaking choreo for his skaters though? Do other coaches do it too?

As much as Mishin seems to? Or is he the worst offender
IDK. I think people just notice that his students have a signature style, that the choreo gradually changes to. Like some say the "Eteri style" is constant transitions whether they fit or not.

True. Although as a non-skater the thing that stands out to me with Mishin-programs is the armography rather than anything to do with footwork. I wonder...does Mishin explicitly add the armography in (do they write down the choreo for programs or just memorise them?) or does it just come naturally.

It's at over 400 now, and some media are picking it up.

Nothing will come from it, Russians aren't used to this 'direct democracy' but one can hope some PR professionals behind the beginner coach will have given him some advice.

Well, he does some extreme stuff like changing entirely the music but keeping the same choreo. (Liza 2019-2020 SP).
Ah yes, I remember that. As a lover of tangoes I actually didn't mind, but the original music did go better, obviously and it was good they changed it back.

I wonder if Mishin got an annoyed phone call from Shae-Lynn over that, I remember reading a comment from her about not appreciating the music change at all!

A beginner coach has to start somewhere ....

There were hardly any favourable comments in the Russian media, so at the next stages and Rostelekom there will be extreme scrutiny on this particular person off and on screen. It's sort of the price you have to pay for being (in)famous, isn't it?

And it will be interesting for sure, with Plyushchenko having to manage two competing teams within his own ranks.
Who will be with whom on TV? Will Rozanov and Mikhailov even want to be seen together, who will get the most of Ilinykh's tacky attention? Everybody is in this learning phase.

Then there is Volkov with Konstantinova, another of Plyushchenko's separate teams.

Pressure is already building: we get videos but no photos with one and photos but no videos with the other, since Aleksandra ('s parents) gave no permission for photos to be published.

This is what you get yourself into when skaters sign contracts with commercial rinks and can dictate their own terms, buy themselves favours. Nothing wrong with that, but it will only increase pressure and antagonism. Especially when the teams are going to be set up against each other to get higher competitive drive and results.

It would have been better to say: 'in order not to disturb Aleksandra's preparations for the competition, she has asked us not to take photos during training' instead of 'Sasha does not allow to get her picture taken during training'.

so there are 3 teams in the same academy because the top skaters want to train separately.
I understand now why Plushy is hungry for money. It costs a lot to satisfy everybody’s wishes.

I suspect it was more that Liza insisted on changing it back. I wouldn’t be surprised if Shae Lynn was indeed annoyed though.

Interesting..;)Trankov liked Plushenko's post about Liza's score, and agree with him Bestemianova, Urmanov, Sinitsina, Leonova, Tarasova. Trankov supported Plushenko's opinion in Kamila's case.

We are trying to move on......

Let's talk about Lambiel. He got the two Japanese champions (coronavirus was on his side) and Paganini. Deniss finally landed a quad.

Looks like his rink is becoming a powerhouse. I wonder if Kihira and Uno will keep the same technical level and if Kihira will successfully skate a layout with a quad.

I like your anlaysis and inside information. Could you please give us more?

Competition is good and leads to better results according to Tuberize. Maybe this kind of plushy competition is even better for result. Kind of a next step level.

Are you joking? Inside analysis? Where would he have such analysis? It all comes only from his incomprehensible hatred.
