You know a celebrity!
Yes. He is hungarian like me. I met with him three times before the Kings on Ice shows. I had chance to go in the rehearsals of the shows. That is almost better than the show and I could watch the skaters for hours, I could see how they learn the choreography of the show, etc. Me and my husband stood next to the ice and Edvin came to us when he heard we were talking in Hungarian language. I have his telephone number. He is a very friendly and funny person.

Well, the Mishin girls have some work to do.

Samodurova in the free - ! on the 3F, q on the 3Lz, < on the second 3Lz, << on the 3S with a fall, and the last 3F was only a 2F with a ! and q, only level 2 in steps, and level 3 on two spins.

Guliakova - q on the 3T, ! on the 3Lz, << on the 3S, < on the 3F, +REP on the second 3Lo with a fall, level 3 on steps and one spin.

They were tied with Safonova after the short, but all the above problems meant that Safonova beat Guliakova with 19 points and Samodurova with 21 points. Not the day that the Mishin girls had hoped for.

but the day they should be happy that professor's reputation saved them from 29 & 31 points difference with Vika. Seriously, if this is the best TeamMishin has in senior ladies (apart from Tuktik), then StPete is kaputt.
True, and both Samodurova and Guliakova looked more tired and out of steam than last weekend at Stage Three imo. I wonder if it was such a good idea to compete so close after Russian Cup. And Sofia is supposed to be at Stage Four next weekend so there is not much time for her to regain her stamina...

I’m glad Vika won. She is so tall and has kept her jumping ability during the pandemic. A score just over 200 puts her as one of the top skaters to watch for outside the big four countries. Also, in the junior competition, Kisel competed. She is someone who has been landing both triple axels and quad toes in practice. So, I was interested to see what she would produce here. She landed two triple axels. First one was fully rotated with negative GOE. She did better in the second attempt, but, under rotated the Euler portion of the combination. I’m hoping Safanova and Kisel do well in Worlds to open up more spots for Belarus in the international stage. It was a good day for Belarus. Bad day for Mishin as his athletes all seemed to lack the usual firepower. Kolyada was also a slight disappointment in the men’s category. They seem to fall apart more in the second half of their long programs.

it's very difficult to regain what you never had
LOL! Well, that's a bit harsh. Sofia used to be a firecracker with consistency that even made her European Champion (and with a little luck ;) ).

But, it is indeed worrying for her. Stage Four next weekend will be the toughest yet, and if Sofia skates like this, she will probably have Trusova, Kostornaia, Khromykh, Konstantinova, Shulskaya, Nugumanova and Tsibinova ahead of her. That means Sofia is 8th! Not good.

I think you forgot who won the European Championship 2019. Gentle reminder, her name is Sofia Samodurova. If skating cleanly competition after competition for an entire year when many favorites didn‘t, isn’t stamina for you, then I don’t know what is. Sorry but your disrespectful comments are neither correct nor funny.

As for Sofia‘s skating: tough day for her. She did much better at the last stage, though it’s still all a bit rough. She probably won’t ever repeat her 2018-2019 success but she can still make Nationals, win medals at Challengers and Cup events and maybe get some GPs. If she wants to do that, why not let her? I for one happen to find her skating very entertaining and while I don’t always love her programs, I appreciate her individuality and unusual choices. She’ll get her stamina back. She just needs time.

Agree. :) Plus I love this song! It is from her FS:

True, Sofia's consistency in the 2018-2019 season was probably the main reason she was sent to Euros.
I've never seen her skate two programs again the way she skated there.

I wonder what happened... She didn't increase her layout difficulty or anything, but she still lost the consistency and some of that energy and confidence.

I was browsing around YouTube for Russian Cup videos, and this is what I found (most # of viewings)

1. Valieva 843.000 views
2. Shcherbakova 539.000
3. Trusova 460.000
4. Usacheva 226.000
5. Tuktamysheva 214.000
6. Khromykh 63.000
7. Konstantinova 59.000
8. Samodurova 45.000
9. Frolova 35.000
10. Talalaikina 12.000 (Yay! You go Maria! :hap10:)

I couldn't find any videos for Shulskaya, Nugumanova and Guliakova:(

I don't know if some videos are blocked for me here in Sweden. If you see any videos with more viewings - please say so.

What does this mean? Can we draw any conclusions? Well, we mustn't forget that some viewers might not like the skater.
E.g. I am sure Nadya has probably watched Anna's videos a hundred times to check out edges and stuff...;)

Edit: Thanks to Nadya, I now found Guliakova 18.000

I think it's the mind game that is playing with Sofia. It's all in her head. Last year was a disappointment for her. She only scored 187 points internationally, and she was competing a lot. She wants desperately to improve on that of course, and that might trigger doubts in your head.

We saw this at the last Stage when Shcherbakova couldn't get her Loop combo right, even though she landed it over and over again in the warm up. We have seen it with Trusova not being able to deliver in competitions that matters.

Figure skating can be such a mind game sometimes.

Usually only the first three skates in the segment are uploaded separately, I think.

Yes, well, I'm responsible for at least a 100K of Kamila´s SP views :sneaky:

Well, probably you have not typed their names in Russian. Here is Gulyakova:
