they can't control their lives outside of the rink. that's what kids like to do, stay up late, but things change and your body changes as you get older and you realize how much better you feel when you get adequate rest. when you are younger you are resilient and your body can easily handle less sleep. i can assure you this is not something unique to only Aliona.
Nobody else talks about it though. ")

Well it's interesting aliona says things that are different than other skaters typically say. I guess that just makes her more unique.

Something is happening to a lot of skaters in the background... Liza Osokina seems to be injured as well? she was such a fire cracker at Test Skates, but her Lz here was really strange and she underrotated her combo, glad she managed to land her Lz nevertheless.

SuperSonic Akatieva!💥💥💥

So great to finally see a junior ladies event with some real competition!

Sofia A was lovely as always. That 3A-3T is SO consistent, I don't think she's missed it yet this year. And the height and distance on the 3A is so impressive! I'd really like her to perform more during the step sequence especially, but this program is a lot of fun and she seems to enjoy it!

Great to see Veronika skate clean! (And the arena speakers didn't sound like they were dying this time which is always a plus  ) Her jumps are so impressive to me, and she seemed more committed to the choreography today as well. I wonder if we'll see a 3A in the free?

Sofia M's short has become one of my favorite ladies programs of the season, I absolutely love it. She is such a beautiful performer and dramatic music like Ne Me Quitte Pas fits her so well. I'd love to see her get another medal tomorrow!

I was very impressed by Alina Gorbacheva. IIRC, she was out with a pretty serious injury until very recently, but you wouldn't even know it looking at today's performance. She was lovely! She's a great performer as well, just needs to work on a more difficult combo.

I also really enjoyed Daria Sadkova. Pretty rough around the edges, but those jumps are HUGE! There's tons of potential there, that's for sure. Does anyone know when she's JGP eligible?

The way some people feel like they can comment on Aliona's personality, call her difficult, is bizarre. Let's not forget she was sent to the junior group before her first senior season and she was able to handle that.

In the grand scheme injuries do not matter, performances on the ice do, but these were her spins just 6 weeks ago:

No one can say there weren't some back issues at the least. I can't find the source now but Aliona said she wanted to include 2 or maybe 3 triple axels at Rostelecom. Wishing her the best!

Sofia Muravyeva has grown leaps and bounds into her program. So beautiful to see her being so expressive and emotive with her performance. I can see the work done from Elena Ilinykh on her! She has such a sweet voice when speaking to the camera. Glad to see her so happy!

I hope Veronika and Sofia A. skate clean tomorrow! Both girls are amazing on their own.

I honestly think Sofia Muravyeva was a bit lowballed in PCS today. I would've given her around 8 for everything. But that aside, I really love her program so much! She really performs it! Also her spins are lovely, surprised she didn't get a bonus (maybe the butterfly was a bit wonky).

Veronika Zhilina's program is pretty good. There was a slight stumble in the step sequence, but overall very impressive. Her jumps are really powerful too. Can't wait to see her FS and that super effortless 4T of hers.

Not the biggest fan of Akatieva's SP. Maybe because Stasya is also using this music and because Marin Honda also used it, I just feel like her performance is very meh in comparison. Then again, she is still a junior, so that's understandable. The step sequence could be more connected to the music. Her jumps, though, are very good. Especially that 3A+3T, it's so consistent!

I still really like Osokina's SP, it's so full of personality! Not the biggest fan of that costume though...

Given her Ina Bauer here versus test skates and her spins in videos versus here, I thought her back bothering her would be apparent to everyone.

As for her personality, I absolutely love it. There is no need to hide the bad about yourself and only reveal the good. A person is a whole being and certainly not one of us is perfect. A sixteen year old girl staying up all night? Well I am 23 and work full time and even still I can’t manage the discipline in myself to get to bed at a reasonable time if there is something that is interesting me. She is admitting past faults. Even current ones. How is this making her her own worst enemy? From my perspective, I think society would be much healthier if everyone had this candor and self awareness AND if people could express themselves in this manner— good and bad— without being ridiculed for it.

Rus Fed won't just stop with the overscoring will they? In what world is Akatieva's performance today (with a level 2 step sequence) worth almost 3 more points in PCS than Muravyevas???????????

And how is Akatieva's lutz with a ! edge scoring a higher GOE than Zhilina's beautiful lutz? I'm so tired of harping on the same thing all the time but it's so infuriating. I wonder what Eteri is doing is doing for all these judges behind closed doors because Akatieva doesn't even have the fame to justify these absurd scores in relation to everyone else and it makes me not enjoy her performance as I should.

For the actual performances I watched

Zhilina: Much better than her last performance. I think she was more connected to the music today. Her flip did not look as confident as usual but the rest of her jumps were beautiful. I think she was lowballed in goe today. I don't mind her pcs that much because I don't think she's as good as Akatieva or Muravyeva but again Akatieva isn't 3 pioints ahead.

Muravyeva: Beautiful, beautiful program. I think that she has really mastered this program as time has gone on. I remember watching it the first time and her being kind of lost in the middle but today was nothing like that. She was so expressive, beautiful skating skills and for her combo, I almost couldn't believe that she rotated that triple toe after the initial flip. Step sequence was so gorgeous I almost dared the judges not to give that a straight level 4 and subpar goes but thankfully they didn't. Couldn't believe that PCS at the end especially compared to the rest of the field. Also can't believe the goe for all her spins esp when I thought they should be getting bonuses for them.

Akatieva: I think she did pretty well generally. Not as strong as her last performance but I like her general program overall. Her step sequence was lost to the wind. I was wondering what she was doing. Her 3A was rotated so that was nice but even with the stumble on the landing, GOE remained rock solid so w/e. Her axels are nice and big and visually sublime. reminds me of Kosto

Osokina: I was really really anticipating her! I was not as impressed with her as I was at test skates but she was okay. I wonder why she waited so long to compete esp when she was in great shape at the beginning of the season. Her jumps are still nice but they look kinda shaky and ofc they butchered her GOEs for that understandably. I appreciate her unusual positions on her spins but she is losing levels in all of them, she needs to do something about it. She also didn't have as great a presence as she has at the test skates. I'm really looking forward to her free program tmrw because I loved it so much at test skates.

I'm kinda torn with whom I want to win tmrw. I want Zhilina to def land 2 quads tmrw (hopefully quad lutz) and be on the podium. After watching Muravyeva's skate today, I also want her to end up on the podium and I also really like Osokina and want her to podium!! I know Akatieva's gonna kick one of them out of the podium so I'm sad but I also really like Akatieva. Junior girls are more difficult for me.

The current power rankings of Russian ladies at the moment, as I see it:

1. Sasha
2. Anya
3. Kamila
4. Dasha
5. Alyona
6. Liza
7. Maya
8. Anna F

So, if Stockholm Worlds will ever take place, the only threat to Alyona's spot seems to be Liza T. Four of my top eight are still 2nd year juniors in international scene and so not age eligible. Of course, the recovering Zhenya and Ksenia are question marks, if they can possibly make the RusNats.

Edit: By the way, I'm quite sure that Russian judges prefer to send Alyona over Liza to Sweden.
Well, mine would be similar but....

1-2 Sasha
1-2 Anna
3 Kamila
4 Alyona
5 Dasha
6 Liza
7 Maya
8 Anna F

I noticed the Russian haters don't like this new Aliona..but I like her personality more an more..She became more open, and she likes to talk..

I noticed that you wrongly accuse people that don't like her programs for being a "Russian hater'. I am a HUGE Russian skater fan, pretty much all of them. I don't like either of her programs. But I'm a "Russian hater" to you, huh. Funny how your mind works.

A question: who did the choreo for Zhilina's SP? I really like how they integrate the two different song together, I don't know if they found this arrangement ready made or if they had it done especially for the program but FINALLY a program that does not seem truncated in two!

Sadkova is just about eligible to the next JGP (fall 2021). She was born June 20-something 2008. But will she make the team though? At this moment she wouldn't

No, don't get me wrong...I was talking about the comments on Russian forum... You believe me I can call them hater because they had hard opinion on Aliona's personality.

Princess Aliona is awesome and outspoken! There is obviously a lot to like about her. But she is also Her own worst enemy in my opinion.

What's this about her basically admitting she's just starting to work hard now with this comment about her new regimine going to bed early where before she went to bed whenever she wanted to? Lol! It sounds like aliona got to do whatever she wanted at her previous academy. ;)

But I want her to get that 3A back so she can compete with Sasha Anna and kamila. No 3A for tiny tigress aliona is like taking the fangs from a tiger and expecting them to be able to hunt like they used to. She should have had her greatest jump back by now so I am very perplexed why she doesn't have it. Obviously she has to have it for the Olympic season.
Don't worry. Her body has changed a lot! She is short but she looks like a woman not a little girl anymore. Probably they need time to save her jumps but they don't need to hurry. It seems she is in very good mood and understands what happens now.
