It all depends on the patience, tact and sense of both Kostornaya and her training staff. We'll see how things go.

And in principle, the current season is really no season at all yet and perhaps will not be with the pandemic getting a firmer grip on the world.

So there might br even more time to sort things out by the time qualification for the Olympic Games comes around.

Kostornaya

Kostornaya about working with She-Lynn Bourne: “She's obviously better than me, so it was hard. I realized that I still have a lot to learn

Russian figure skater kostornaya spoke about her work with Canadian choreographer Bourne

“I tried the quadruple salchow, but now the task is to cleanly roll the programs and come out with three triple axels. As soon as I have the opportunity, I will try to learn the quadruple. But for now it is in the plans. We are working specifically on what is needed now.

Working with She-Lynn Bourne? Everything is absolutely different, right down to how she performs the elements. And it looks different, and she skates clearly better than me. Therefore, it was hard enough for me to repeat after her, because this is a level. And mine is not so big. I looked and realized that I still have a lot to learn, ”said Kostornaya.

this makes me happy she has branched out and tried working with others. i can imagine it can begin to feel a bit closed off by being able to work with only one choreographer every year for every program. it's exciting to see new ideas.

I chuckled when Plushenko was telling her to move her hips with 'PAM-PAM' Certainly his beloved iconic move!
Though I feel like he's right about the idea of trying 3A on a rod again, not sure why Aliona refused it.

Waiting for a YT clip from todays' 1TV late afternoon and evening news reports.

And addresssing her as "Alyonushka", so we now know who is controlling the 'official' fan channel ...

Spoiling a teenager, making her feel entitled, Queen of the B-team, then when by whatever circumstance/happenstance the moment comes of taking it all away, making Kostornaya say ' I owe my trainers no thanks ' again?

We'll see how it goes.

For now, a competition is on hand, and the declared content might leave Kostornaya outside the medals even ...

Still, I rate Kostornaya without ultra-si as a higher scoring skater than at least one with declared ultra-si, for those difficult and risky jumps still have to be delivered. While a less risky content delivered to maximum grades of execution is clearly Kostornaya's forte.

what do you mean?:scratch2:

I believe I made a posting on this, the 'official' fan channels of both Kostornaya and Trusova often headlining their postings with ' our Alyonushka ' or ' our Sashenka ', the smallest diminutive, as if they are 3 year olds. These channels have lost their independence, and it shows.

you're really picking on some minor insignificant stuff, I don't get it.

already uploaded, link in my previous post :)
Really nice clip, showing skaters from various schools, Alina and Aleksey giving explanations and showing the audience what they mean.

And how the sport has changed, has become much more precise, mathematical even.
While we did loose some unique, personal artistic touches probably ...

In the meantime, all the 'talking heads' from Russian figure skating are making their positions known on who should win in their opinion,
there are also bookmakers odds listed here and there, and figure skating is now listed at the far left in 1TV's website on sports.

Anticipation on the strongest quasi GP event to date is building also.

Said this a Plushenko hater. Why I'm not surprised??:D But if anybody read Nastya's interviews then would know this. Otherwise this is not a polite sentence it is a specific statement for those who are wrong . A polite sentence would sound like this: "he is a great athlete an Olympic champion I had privileg to work with him..."
She praised Eteri was she polite about her, too? Or your opinion is to Plushenko solely?

I would like everybody to calm down. It makes me sad to see nice posters whose point of view I respect to fight this nasty battle. Last season Eteri was the primary target. Somehow the "h" word with respect to her critics was forbidden then. Now there are 2 camps and the word keeps flying freely.

I don't approve either her or his sarcastic words through public channels. As posters said here, most of teenage skaters are much more mature in their public assessments.

At the same time, the fact is that Eteri is a genius coach and a strong manager. It is she who is leading Russian undisputed dominance in ladies figure skating. Plushy still has at least 2 seasons ahead of him to prove that he can be a star coach as well. Let the deeds speak not the words.

Wow, Aliona was worried about even going for the 3A, and this was 2 weeks ago. Maybe she has it back by now but I'm quite apprehensive for her to go for it if she's feeling like this. It's all so confusing as she's trying the 4S before having the 3A back, I wonder what's going on.
