I liked your comment when I saw it just said "historical still counts though". When I saw the other part, I didn't agree with it, so I removed it and added another reply to you.

Is there anything else you'd like to  at? :)
Enough laughing for one day. :)

P.S. About your edit, I like your comments whenever I think they're worthy of it. I don't hold grudges about past discussions. Think I liked one of your posts an hour ago. ;)

As I wrote earlier, the "ultimatum" part is my personal take on what Yermolina said - "change the coaching approach or else".
Good to know you're a member of the Russian Figure Skating Fed.

Now I know just who to send all my complaints to.

Anyone can take stuff out of context and twist it.

You should be very proud of yourself.

It's one think to preface an article with an opinion, but a whole different ballgame when you purposely misconstrue and fabricate.

That's exactly what it is. I publish what I see and what I hear in a press conference or what skaters, coaches, etc. actually say. I don't put a biased or tabloid preface to it. That's unprofessional.

However, the poster made it appear that somone in the Russian Fed said that "a newbie coach" was given an "ultimatum", when in fact, that was not the case.

Yes it was indeed.
Thank you gsk8 for putting the right emphasis on this story . I hope that you will not receive accusations of "hatred" for a particular coach from his fans, celebrating the success of his students the failure of the"traitors".

I have nothing but utter respect for all coaches in all sports in general! Each coach has individual strengths that they bring to the table, and like all people, they grow, mature, and learn new things as they progress through their career.

How do Valieva and Akatieva's have better landings with rippon than without on their quads?
I think they reworked something specific in their 4T technique, perhaps Dudakov figured something out in the meantime, because both had occasional problems with 4Ts here and there before, and now suddenly both come out with stellar effortless rippon 4Ts.
Dudakov's magic no less :ROFLMAO:

RusFed's press secretary does not post her personal opinions on the RusFed's website.
Honestly speaking it is not even an opinion, but just a general comment. Like this one: "It is one thing to declare that the weather should be sunny for the parade. But to make a competent decision as to the selection of a right place and a right date taking into account the weather forecasts and the usual weather patterns for the season is quite another story". Would you call it an ultimatum?

It was quite confusing since she didn't say anything close to what you said she said with your speech bubbles. A quotation and your believed implication of what she said are massively different. Does not sound anything like an "or else" to me at all.

Also not sure she was listening to your bolded when she said "I just want to forget Alexandra's FS".

The poster just had an opinion about it, why some people here are acting as if everyone, who's kindly translating articles, is supposed to be a professional journalist, providing valuable analysis of those articles and should have a neutral opinion about all of those translated pieces?
It's just a poster on a forum, he isn't an editor or a journalist posting this on a sport website, your demands are addressed to a wrong audience. He didn't alter the text from Rusfed, he translated everything correctly, but just wrote his own comment above the text. His own opinion of what's said, not claiming anything else.

When I translate things for users here, I just add my opinion below or above sometimes, because I don't want to make a separate post about things I've just translated.
Seriously, you all need to stop making a big thing out of nothing.

It would be the same, if people here accused those spreading rumors about Sasha's alleged injury from IG as 'tabloid journalism' and so on. Come on now, it's not what that is. People who wrote about her injury aren't journalists, and demanding that from them would be absurd.

Actually, if that's what she said, I must admit I feel pretty much the same and I DO NOT mean it as any kind of ultimatum. I just mean it like when you have a bad dream and you wake up sad and upset and just want to forget it.

Lmao you didn't provide a link, and spliced the article to make it sound like RusFed made a press release statement solely on Aliona and Sasha, called it an ultimatum, and then made a fake quote from the writer based on your implication.

Don't worry, the poster was forced to post a link to the real article afterwards.

We're just discussing this opinion and whether it was rooted in the background material the poster provided to substantiate it. That's all. Ain't that what the forum is for?

That was an opinion from a journalist. Not a statement made by someone in the RSFS that a coach was given an ultimatum.
Look at the format of JazzUp's post (the poster's words in Italic):

RusFed basically issues an ultimatum to the 'newbie coach':

quotes ...

It is obvious to me that he's expressing his opinion on the quoted content. There is nothing misleading here.
I understand that you probably wanted to help clarify things a little, particularly because people here all have strong opinions on almost everything. To me it is a normal post, people may like or dislike the opinion, read/discuss or ignore the quotes, ...

Since Mr. Gsk8 mentioned tabloid journalism and how things are 'reported', I had an impression that your discussion was about the objectivity of the claim made by the poster, so my point would be it was not meant as an objective claim to begin with, it was meant to be a subjective opinion of a forum poster, which you either agree or disagree with. That's all. There's nothing really to discuss, it's what he personally thought that PR person meant to say, some people will rightfully think otherwise. It would be worth to share opinions about the article itself, rather than disect and overanalyze someone's subjective reaction.

Just like you won't analyze why some internet user thinks Anjelina Jolie is ugly/pretty.
