Wasn't the (initial) rules that everyone has to compete at two stages in the Russian Cup to qualify for Nationals?
If so, then it means that Kostornaia, Tuktamysheva and Guliakova are all out??

Well I just checked, if there are no more withdrawals at stage five, there are only 18 ladies that have competed twice...

RusFed already announced several days ago that the rule was changed for members of the NT team and that people still can go to RusNats despite missing the Cups, due to the many injuries and cases of sickness.

There is no way Liza and Alena wouldn't be allowed to skate at Nationals, given that they are missing their second event due to illness and competed a second time at Rostelecom.

Good. So that means that Kostornaia, Tuktamysheva, Guliakova and even Medvedeva and Sinitsyna are safe then...?

TBH this is probably good for Alena. Her pcs reputation is in jeopardy. The judges would have probably given Kamila the higher pcs judging by how much they seem to be favouring her. Imagine going from the international queen of pcs to being ousted by a junior from your old coach.

Her PCS is already down compared to Shcherbakova who had higher PCS in the free at stage one and three than Kostornaia at stage four and Rostelecom.
I wouldn't be surprised if Shcherbakova and Valieva beat her in PCS again at Nationals. Which is interesting considering the Russian judges really really pushed her PCS last year at nationals and wanted her to win.

Yes. Also Alina should she choose to compete which Im assuming she wont
Oh I totally forgot about Alina! But maybe she will be invited to the Russian Cup Final in February? which I'm sure will be the event to decide the team for Worlds (if that happens). (And while you're at it, invite Gubanova to the RCF too!)

So, if Kostornaia, Tuktamysheva, Guliakova, Medvedeva and Sinitsyna will get free tickets to Nationals...that means bad news for Molchanova and very very bad news for Konstantinova.
Good news for Tarakanova though, that so many withdrew from stage five - she is almost certain to qualify for RusNats now.

I hope all the Russian ladies recover quickly and their coaches remain healthy, especially those the higher risk groups.

I do want to state that we do not have to right to assume who is honest/dishonest and declare that those who have non-covid related illnesses like pneumonia or colds are lying. While we are in a pandemic, it is possible to have a respiratory tract infection due to a non-covid virus. I had the flu recently and tested negative for covid so I didn't walk around proclaiming I had it. Of course, everyone has the responsibility to stay home and isolate if they're ill with any virus, just as you would not go to work with a cold or flu to infect everyone else even when there isn't a pandemic. Due to the sensitivity and selectivity in the difference tests, you should let those you've been in contact with know that you are ill, but it is absolutely not recommended to tell people you have covid when you've been tested negative.

Geez, the banquet was not a good idea and I repeat, skaters should avoid meeting fans and taking pictures. I hope it’s only mild symptoms for those who have the covid but don’t take the virus lightly. For those who are not sick yet, please stay safe and be careful because it’s not a simple flu.

Absolutely! The only thing is that this whole situation looks more and more like some sort of 'sciopero bianco', a stay-in strike by the skaters in retaliation to the total mess-up by RusFed, with RusFed silently acknowledging they messed up really bad, and playing along with the skaters while trying to think of a way out to save: a) face; b) what's left of the castrated season; с) the skaters.

I'm sure all of the "experts" that suddenly were aware of "Alina's chronic Lz edge & UR problems" after IdF last year, would be extremely happy to know they were wrong: Prins on IdF scoring (among other things)

Speaking specifically about Alina, then, using all available angles, now I would mark only an unclear edge on the Lutz in the 3Lz3Lo combo in the short programme.

Is Veronica Gilina Veronika Zhilina? Otherwise I can't find her

I doubt it. If Ksenia hasn't skated in like 10 months are they going a just allow her in?

Are the other skaters even going to want to be around many skaters just coming off covid? I mean they have to share a locker room and training at the same time on the ice. What I think the federation should do a stretch out Russian nationals you will couple weeks at least so you don't all 4 disciplines
sharing locker Room and training facility at the same time. Or it maybe they should even do nationals in a couple different locations over a period of a couple weeks.

Liza and Aliona will be in Quarantine for 2 weeks and will lose any form they have so how can a be ready for rusnats? The same goes for many other skaters in all 4 disciplines who have covid.

It should be interesting and dramatic to see how this unfolds. I of course don't expect the
Federation to make the right decisions.

Yes, you are right, thank you! I was too lazy to type the names, so I just used Google translate and copied and pasted. Didn't even notice the mistake in Zhilina's name. I will correct it in the original post.
But we have Samodelkina, Petrosyan, Zhilina, Gorbacheva and Osokina. This one is still a very good competition. Let's hope none of them drop out
