Sasha prob gonna get her first Russian Championship gold medal at this rate, qualify for and win Europeans too if it's still holding. Might as well win worlds while she's at it. Hopefully, she doesn't get COVID.

Mostly I don't want too dramatic about this virus and am very much in support of having these competitions, but that was strange for me too: "What!? are you seriously having a banquet!?" was what I thought when the pictures started to appear.
Well, think about people like Mishin or Moskvina. They are made of steel. Why would they ever get sick. But the kids these days: they're softies. Softies, I tell ya!

The stupid part was hosting the banquet in the first place.

It’s good that Eteri doesn’t have a cold or whatever (super weird that Laishev *thats who it was right?* lied) but I’m still confused why they didn’t have any masks on in the video from today... even if no one has it at the moment it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Maybe because they are all pushing their bodies to the limits, which doesn't leave much gas in tank for fighting the virus? How do we know the coaches didn't get it? What if they got that old tb vaccine?
Why are we joking about the pandemic?

In my opinion Tutberidze team are responsible of this Covid outbreak in Rostelecom cup. They did not tell the truth about Scherbakova diagnose..www.facebook.com
Otherwise Morris, Alina, Kamila, Dudakov and Daniil couldnt also participate. And now we see result of this lie....
Why would you assume any one person from Eteri's team was responsible? Anyone who attended the banquet could have been responsible for bringing it there from somewhere else.
I just remembered this post from the week after Rostelecom - this looks kind of ominous now if it's true. Especially given that nobody said Alyona was sick until she had to do mandatory testing for Stage 5 and it became obvious when she withdrew. Maybe I'm reaching, but it makes me think that nobody would announce Sasha being sick if she has no competitions lined up...
Hopefully I'm just paranoid and she's perfectly healthy. I don't think I'm psychologically capable of taking any more bad news.

It's no joking matter at all I don't think anybody finds this funny that the Russian figure skaters are flooded with covid-19. You make a really good point about the athletes obviously are in fantastic condition but they wear themselves down in practice and we know they practice so hard and that may make them more vulnerable to this. The coaches are not working as hard physically which is pretty obvious.Maybe because they are all pushing their bodies to the limits, which doesn't leave much gas in tank for fighting the virus? Most probably Alyona did not show any symptoms and nobody knew she was infected until she took the test. Honestly speaking, this may be the case with anybody. That's what makes covid so tricky.
It seems that Rostelecom was an infestation fest. The whole podium down with COVID, and I am also worried about Trusova, Nugumanova and Samodurova.

I feel especially bad for Alena because she's competed the least of the top Russian women this season and remains the furthest from her peak form last year. Missing this weekend's competition and another few weeks of training will make it even harder to get back to where she was before.
