Jason Brown

Danielle Earl @DanielleEPhoto Dec 7

A few weeks ago @IcePerspectives and I had the opportunity to visit a few of the incredible skaters at @TCSCC_Athletics for a session of filming and photos before Toronto moved into the grey zone. Stay tuned for more photos!

Incredible new Jason photos from that filming session: https://www.instagram.com/p/CIjUl6PrRhc/

Hopefully, the video will be posted soon!

those photos are wonderful; I've always liked Danielle Earl's photos:love:

and could not agree more with her IG post:

"It’s always a treat to get to watch Jason skate. His mastery of the blade, speed, and presence on the ice are just incredible to witness in person."

I had to look up "grey zone" and it's complete lockdown. :( I wonder if Jason might try to cross the border and stay there until after Nationals.

The photo of the split jump is fabulous!

That is a good possibility. I guess he could work with Ro to get ready for Nats, but it's not the same as working with his full time coaches. It might be enough for this year's Nats, though. The landscape might look different in March for World's if the vaccine actually works and all the coaches and skaters can get them. The borders will hopefully be open by then.

It's not a complete lockdown, just a higher level of restrictions (sometimes called a lockdown, but definitely not complete - schools are still open, for example). Toronto has been in "grey" for 2+ weeks now, and professional and high performing athletes are still allowed to train indoors, from what I've read. https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-1...rebuild/covid-19-guide-for-toronto-residents/

As long as he is able to train, I doubt he'd go back to the States before he has to.

Thanks for pointing that out! I should have read beyond the first paragraph. :)

Frankly I think that would be an awful idea on many levels.

First, there would be no guarantee he could get back to TCC after Nationals. So potentially a long period away from his coaching team.

Second, the US is an absolute cesspool of COVID right now. He's safer physically in Canada, even if Canada are themselves struggling, they're still doing better than what's below the border.

I agree. I just began a 14 day quarantine because someone in my lawyer's office tested positive for covid. I was at that office signing a contract of sale for my house. I think the risk is low, but it's real and we are taking it seriously! We get tested on Sunday. Nationals shouldn't take the risk. It's not worth it. They can do it virtually. Or not at all.

26. What a fine, wonderful young man Jason has become. I hope he was able to have a great day even if he couldn't spend it with his family.

26. My god, it's been 10 years since I first saw this tiny, weedy kid with the oversized hands and feet and the ponytail. How time flies.

Imagine a #figureskating video game that looked like this! Who would you want to play as? @jasonbskates

I’d love to see some animators use their creativity to make this look like an actual video game! Maybe you add a stamina bar? A balance meter? In-world rings to skate through that charge your jump ability if you nail them just right? An audience applause indicator that recharges your stamina?! (disabled for the ‘2020-21 Season’ survival chapter of course)! Your only limit is your imagination!

Upload your creation to tinyurl.com/figureskatingvideogame or tag #figureskatingvideogame. I’d love to see it! PS there are no deadlines, and you can use any video you’d like, but if you’d like to use this one, download it from tinyurl.com/jasonbrownvideogame Happy animating!

(I would watch multiple repeats of Jason doing stroking exercises around a rink . He's so fast and so smooth!)
