Apparently she has some kind of injury. She has only trained two 4Lzs in the free. It looks like she has the exact same layout Shcherbakova had last year at GP with 4 Lutzes including Loop combo.

Even if they both are not competitive right now, with the abundance of talent in Russia I wonder why RusFed sticks to 18 participants and not 24. They clearly have the talent to make the fourth group worth watching as well.

I’m just happy they both put their health first! As much as I would have loved to watch them, withdrawing was a smart move. But yeah, I agree Russia should definitely have 24 participants.

I don’t understand how Khromykh got these GoE and this mark

It helps that she rotated and landed everything but the quad. And attempting a quad (even falling on it) tends to score better than a double and helps your PCS too.

It also helps that Maiia had a 10 point lead over Maria from the short program. (It actually could have been a bit higher.)
