Alena Prineva — on the fall from the 4Lz, working on mistakes, and plans for the next season:
It's a bit sad that the first jump in the competition didn't go well. I tried to do my best on everything else, but there's still room for improvement. I'm happy with the competition. Yesterday, I managed to pull off the short program, and today I didn't mess up any elements I could have. Overall, it's a decent result.
I could have landed the quadruple Lutz, but there's always more pressure in competitions, so I fell. There was no point in skating without the quadruple jump, anyway — this competition doesn't decide anything anymore. For the last week and a half, the Lutz has been coming out well. I've been landing it often in the program, so we decided I'd try the quadruple Lutz.
I definitely want a vacation, but I still need to work hard, practice the Lutz and land more Toeloop. I want to go into the next season fully prepared and in good shape.
