It is not a matter of 'think'. It is a matter of 'watch and count'.
well, obviously I "think" after I watched and counted it lmaoo. How else did you want me to phrase that sentence? Some people here just want to say anything.

Here you go: I counted that Tarakanova didn't deserve a level 2. happy?

She did have a street dance ex last season and was fantastic!

I confess to not liking that program as much since it’s just not my type of music. But she sold it anyway and I agree that the style suits her! It shows that she’s not just elegant, she can be sharp in her movements as well. She’s probably a pretty versatile skater, so I hope they’ll utilize that strength in giving her two very distinct programs next season. Something sassy, fun for the short and an emotional FS would be my personal preference.

I was tired after three (or four?) days of 24/7 skating last year at the Europeans (lol, I wonder how the skaters must have felt!) but I remember Anna being very enthusiastic despite being visibly exhausted. I still found the program rather odd but she was one of the few who gave me a feeling of wanting to be there rather than just waiting for the gala to end to get some much needed sleep/rest. (which is understandable anyway) I may not always be the greatest fan of her skating (and I do realise I’ve unconsciously criticized her scores/programs more harshly than some of my favorites’ as a result) but her obvious joy and love for skating can really win you over.

I don‘t get how she manages to be this good! Like, most Russian ladies do pretty well in their off-ice choreographies but Anna really looks like a professional dancer.

I wonder what a more up-beat program would look like with her skating? I remember her stating that she feeds off the energy of the new ending in her FS, so maybe something fun would give her an extra boost? Don‘t think they‘ll experiment next season, with it being the Olympic year, but maybe the year after that?
I have been wanting this for soooooo long. She needs an upbeat sassy SP, and an intense classical FS. My dream is for her to have a hip hop or jazz funk style SP and tango (second choice Rachmaninoff) FS in the Olympic season.

The lyrical pieces are fine but she has so much more to offer.

I think Shcherbakova would do really well with a jazz or old-school rock and roll because she is head and shoulders above most of her competitors in facial expressions to perform her music, sigh but its the Olympics next year so experimentation is unlikely to happen. Given that Worlds is looking like the only possibility for international competition it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of skaters reuse both of their programs for next year.

Here's your sassy program with a capital S :points:

Anna would make an amazing Violetta (La Traviata)

The chances of keeping this years programs for the Olympic season are probably a good bet but I do hope she gets new programs. She reached a new level artistically at nationals this year and she deserves new programs to show it off.

No opera, please no opera

I wouldn't mind the FS staying from this year, but hope they change the SP.

I think they might keep one of Anna’s programs from this season for next season but I really want her to get two new ones. Jazz/rock/pop for the SP would be preferable but I doubt her coaches will give her a completely new style for the Olympic season. Anna can probably do it really well, but looking at their choices for other skaters in Olympic season, they don’t usually try anything risky or new. But I’d love a good triumphant classical FS. Something like Firebird but with choreo that actually matches the multiple musical accents.

I would like hers or Alionas SP to be Take 5.

I'd like to see some more experimentation from Anna and some less from Alena lol.

I think they will go classical and slow in both programs for Anna tho.
Alena and Sasha on the other hand we really have no idea what they will come up with. In Sasha's case I think it comes down to what Plushenko and team decide to give her, in Alena's case I fear she may implement any possible pop song she enjoys at the time being.

Why shouldn't Aliona skate to wherever she wants to? I don't get this attitude from fans at all. After all she's the one putting in the hard work why shouldn't she skate to what she enjoys? I can't imagine wanting to practice day in and day out to music I don't enjoy or find boring.

There's enough classical and slow programs for everyone already.

And I say this as someone who doesn't like Billie Ellish at all.

Just like she can like whatever "music" she wants, fans aren't obligated to like the music. I've not cared for the program all season, perhaps with more miles it would look better, but personally I don't find her skating to be matching to the music and it's looked like a step backwards in performance/presentation this year. Could that be because of the disjointed offseason and might not be an issue next year if she doesn't have any weird breaks or coaching changes perhaps, but there's going to be a small margin for errors next year with trying to get on the Olympic team.

Fair enough, but it shouldn't be used as a "weapon" against Aliona. Just because she doesn't skate to the music you (generic you) likes in the way you (again generic you) want her too doesn't mean she's doing the wrong thing.

Also, and the judges should probably get this written on the back of their hands, outside of offensive lyrics a skater can perform to whatever they want and their score should reflect how they skated to that piece, doesn't matter if it's the Chicken Dance or something like Beethoven. Unless they want to change the rules to specify that.

I absolutely hate the music and the singers other music. However I love seeing Kostornaia skate to it, as it looks like she's truly into it. This makes it enjoyable for me

I have no opinion on Billie Eilish, I'm indifferent to her music. It has nothing to do with that, but with the fact that I simply think those programs aren't good. They make her look immature when what they should showcase with her is precisely the fact she has SS and carriage far beyond the teenagers they all are, that's what sets her apart.

It's the equivalent to when Tarasova/Morosov for some ludacris reason decided to skate to Candyman...for the FS...at the Olympics. When their strength was precisely their classical ballet trained lines and execution over teams like Duhamel/Radford and Savchenko/Massot.
