2021 U.S. Nationals: Senior Free Dance

They do this at Canadian Nationals all the time. They'll do the bottom groups for all the disciplines in the morning, then the top group or two in all of the disciplines in the evening — so they can broadcast it live. It's all about convenience for T.V.
Yes, screw the hard work of the skaters and the time of the few spectators who can be bothered to show up and then have to sit around a rink for hours. 🙄

I'm seeing it on Peacock.

I think NBCSN is having issues. There is no audio, and I get just a white screen with black letters that say "it can be hard" on it. No broadcast at all.

is that some sort of message? LOL
I don't think NBCSN starts until 6 pm PST 9 pm EST.

Screw you arthritis for making me want to gnaw my own hands off.

Does anyone know how long Asher/ODonnell have been skating together? Where are Tanith and Terry when I need them for bio facts?

Sorry, moonvine. Praying the competition takes your mind off the pain for some time.

I actually find the early groups in ice dance just as enjoyable as the higher ranked teams, so it especially annoys me with this discipline.

I liked Asher / O'Donnell's energy! I enjoyed that first group! Agree with everyone who thinks it's shame especially for the skaters that they can't just all be in "prime time" with the rest of the ice dancers. They all work so hard and with this season being so difficult, it's seems unnecessary for them to break up the competition that way.

They must have paired up recently because ice-dance.com has her skating with Kyle Pearson in 2019 and him skating with Bailey Melton then. I haven't found anything more specific, but I'm curious as well.

Thank you. I should not really be here to inflict my crankiness on you defenseless people.
And agree on the enjoyability.

Hilary and Ryan are in the first season of their partnership. They train in Novi.

Ryan and his previous partner trained in Colorado Springs. They competed as seniors at least at 2020 Nats (possibly earlier too, but I don't remember off the top of my head).
Hilary and her previous partner competed as juniors at 2020 Nats. I do not remember where they trained, but it was not Novi. I think Hilary was new to ice dance last season?

(Weathergal, if you have checked ice-dance.com, please feel free to correct anything that I have misremembered.)

T/V: A more calculated skate than their RD, but they are rocking the costumes.

Did Taylor/Vollmer use their reverse lift?
I do not have Peacock Premium -- I forgot that I would not be able to see their FD.

I thought I remembered Tanith talking about a team that had only been skating together since July. But could not remember if it was this team.
