Wow, ksenia's step sequence matches the music quite well. Who choreographed her short program ?
I realized that I could watch the entire step sequence without cringing or looking at my watch.
And the dress is gorgeous! Lots of sparkle but not gaudy.

Wikipedia says it the choreographer is Nadezha Kanaeva.
Anyways, her short program is just such a masterpiece. And it really highlights her gorgeous skating skills and amazing flow and speed. I know she kept it last year, but nonetheless, it is my favorite short program in the ladies discipline.

So happy to see Ksenia too! She's such a wonderful skater.

But I worry how on earth RusFed will manage to get her GP assignments for next season? She has literally no results this season.
I wonder if she could go to the Russian Cup Final? She was invited to Russian Nationals because of her place on the National team, so maybe she can get into the Cup Final because of that too? If she performed well there and placed like in the top 6 they might consider her.

On the topic of the Cup Final, will Daria/Kamila/Maiia be going?

I'm not really sure about that 5-jump thing - wouldn't 3-jump beautiful combo with a nice flow be better? :scratch2:

I mean, even Alina's legendary 2018 Oly 3Lz3Lo3Lo3Lo3Lo combo was a bit muscled in the end. I just think, from aesthetical and physical excellence standpoint, three jumps can be performed closer to perfect.

Yes, I'm curious about the RC final too. Will they invite Sinitsyna? (and Medvedeva?).

And I would be delighted if they also invited Gubanova and Sakhanovich - those two didn't have a chance to compete at the Stages either.
But they were not part of the National Team so that probably won't happen.

Yes, also curious about D/K/M. They might be there, but they don't have any chance to Q to Worlds so why would they? And that goes for Frolova too.

Why wouldn't they go? It could be their last chance to compete for a while.
I think I would personally prefer if they worked a bit on consistency or new jumps instead of participating at a competition that doesn't really matter. Of course, if they do really well there then sure it proves that they will be Olympic challengers, but hasn't RusNats proved that already? Maybe Kamila and Maiia can compete and Kamila can try to win and Maiia can try to land that quad but I would personally prefer if Daria could start working more on that 3A instead of going to more competitions. Because I really hope she can get a 3A by the beginning of next season. With a 3A, she can challenge for the Olympics!

I dont think one more competition will hurt (hopefully), and they'll have more than 6 months after that to get ready for next season.

The Zhilina girl looks like she's only 9 years old. This wouldn't bother me so much if the coaches didn't seem to exclusively pick girls for their school who look 3 or 4 years younger than their age, and if the other girls with growing bodies weren't shamed for "being big."

Idk if they pick their girls at that young age according to size. They are mostly picked for the ability or at least presumed ability. Zhilina was already famous from Ice Age. Her size didn't really have much to do with that. Also they prob run small in their family because her younger sister is also tiny

It is a 3A but at least < probably also << though I cant be bothered to find a slowmo and check properly
You don't need to find anything, you can just left click the timer and slide it back and forth to watch frame by frame.

That one's clearly << and not even borderline, to be honest. At that point I don't get why she would do that during warmup.

I'd say that while Veronika's super tiny for her age, the reason she was picked is because she has huge jumps and quad / 3Axel capability.
