It doesn’t matter, it’s not a competition between Eteri vs the other russian coaches.

It’s just a show to earn money
Still would be a better show if the coaching teams were split between different competition teams more evenly.

Daniil said in an interview that Maiia‘s going to try 2 quads in the FS (was already shared here, I think). But apparently he also said about Anna and Kamila that, while they will jump everything they can in the jumping fest, “there will be surprises in the SP and FS but he cannot say for now.“

So, what does this mean? Anna 3A? Three quads? Or maybe Daria with a 3A? I don‘t see Kamila doing a 4Lz but maybe a 4S?

It probably wouldn’t stand a chance but people still remember it. Not that I think it was that good of a program either. Tbh, there‘s rarely a Bolero program that really works for me.
I really liked Tuktamysheva's in 2015. That's the best for me

Not a huge fan of letting Zhenya and Alina pick their own teams though. Like it gives me flashbacks to elementary school and captains picking players for kickball. The last few will always feel so bad.
The next team event I want Adelina and Yulia to pick the teams! ;)

The last skater chosen will probably get pissed off and skate the best!

What exatly is Trusova’s injury when she can jump like this?

Is her injury due to lots of jumping, just slipping on the ice, falling down the stairs or....? She seems in good form to me. I'm really looking forward to her performances tomorrow and on Sunday.

You can be in a very good shape even with an injury. I think to most of our knowledge she hurt her right ankle on the 3A in the SP during Rostelecom and it's still bothering her. During RusNats she said she could only jump 4Lz, and it makes sense that she couldn't do 4T because the left leg is used. I saw videos of her doing 4T-eu-3S today, so it's perhaps getting better.

It's obvious he loved Alina.

But I'm also pretty sure Anna was his favourite of the 3A (at the time). He was the first to get her skating again after she broke her leg when he was pretty much carrying her as she glided across the ice.
A father doesn't choose between his children, but I would even say he likes Anna more. She is the first "Daniil" skater, if any skater could be given that title. He's always taken her to all the competitions she competed in, is always at her KnC, and is the last one to let go of her hands before she steps on the ice, even when Eteri's present (I don't think that happens with any other Eteri skater).

We never been given any details I believe just a generic there's an injury after the Rostelecom performance, I would assume she was at least still injured at Nationals given the low number of quads. But considering she's jumping and competing in an irrelevant commercial event and in shows, she's either ridiculously reckless or is recovered. But just because you are injured doesn't mean you can't perform but generally it does inhibit your ability to heal because the injury (muscle or bone) is being put under stress of action.

Results from the crazy 5 combos

1. Shcherbakova 4F+3T+3Lo+Eul+3S - 30.90
2. Trusova 4Lz+3T+Eul+3S+3T - 30.70
3. Valieva 4T+3T+3T+Eul+3S - 28.70
4. Ignatov 4T+3T+Eul+3S+2T - 25.80
5. Mozalev 4T+3T+Eul+3S+2T - 25.56
6. Tuktamysheva 3Lz+2A+2A+2A+2A - 24.98
7. Aliev 4T fall - 13.16
8. Kolyada 4T pop - 1.30

Not that it matters, and the judging was crazy, but it was a lot of fun

thanks... in good shape yes of course, but it's still a mystery to me if the ankle on her landing foot is not okej. Actually I thought she had a left hip injury(don't know where I got that from)

Whatever... I hope she's back on track :)

It was impressive, wasn't it?

As of today Anna, Sasha, and Kamilla look almost invincible as the next Olympic podium. Well, Kamila with just 4T-3T and 4T will be under pressure from Rika. Eteri has chosen 3A for her and it's a wise move because of SP. If Kamila stabilizes 3A she will need no new quad to beat Rika.

Anna showed today both 4Lz and 4F. Her only challenge this year can be clean Sasha with 4 quads.

Having humiliated the guys today Russian ladies showed one more time how far ahead they have moved the boundary. I know that there still will be some lamenting about "good old times", about exquisite "artistry, musicality, and skating skills" shown by usual suspects from the past. But this lamenting will gradually die down together with those who think that the grass was greener.

And I am happy to witness the revolution in ladies figure skating which started for me with "the girl in the red coat" and is running at full speed now with the new generation of truly amazing skaters.

I hope that all of them will be as impressive during the next 2 days as they were today.
