Rika's black tights from her SP this season look so ugly I almost can't believe her team is allowing that as a costume.Do black tights always look terrible?(yes)

I'm a firm believer in "Jumpsuit or Dress". You have to pick. No mashups. No dresses with matching color tights to pretend you had the nerve to wear a jumpsuit. Then there's Madison Hubbell, but that's a whole other problem.Rika's black tights from her SP this season look so ugly I almost can't believe her team is allowing that as a costume.
She didn't generate drama. People on this thread are generating drama.Medvedeva just is a sore loser, even in events such as these that are clearly for fun. I think it'd be mature to just admit defeat rather than generate drama for the sake of drama, but I guess that'd be too much to ask.
Hmmmm I gotta disagree with this one. Zhilina's FS costume is a glittered dress with matching glittered tights and it's really beautiful and fits the theme of her program so well.I'm a firm believer in "Jumpsuit or Dress". Now do I hope that she turns down anything that pits her against Medvedeva again in the future? Yes. 100%.
Or we could say that people on this thread have reactions to her statements in a press conference. And that they have formed opinions based on their reaction to her words and have decided to discuss them here. And the people who do not like those reactions and opinions that are being expressed find them to be 'drama'. If you don't like participating in 'drama' then don't.She didn't generate drama. People on this thread on generating drama.
We're moving away from the drama. Right now. By talking about tights. She didn't generate drama. People on this thread on generating drama.
Zhilina's are different, they're still nude just sparkly. I'm talking about Rika's and Kamila's and all of Sasha's costumes before this season. I saw some similar ones in the novice Russian competition too. Does that big costume designer in Russia think jumpsuits arent ladylike or something? And Rika is desperate to compete with the Russian ladies, so she thinks if she dresses up like one the judges will mix her up?Hmmmm I gotta disagree with this one. I'm okay with tights under a dress but I hate when skaters wear sheer tights over their boots. I can't remember where I saw it, but someone literally wore fishnet tights over their boots. It makes their legs look weird.Rika's black tights from her SP this season look so ugly I almost can't believe her team is allowing that as a costume.
No argument there. It definitely was. I was kind of wary of it but then it started and it was so fun and enjoyable. Until suddenly it wasn't.But that's what I meant though. The whole thing is setup to be Med vs Zag.
We will see.I also want to know which skate company started putting designs on the side of their boots. Was it Edea? Like Anna's boots look so sleek and nice, and Kamila's look so busy and clunky. Then with the tights stretched over the clunky boots, forget it.I'm okay with tights under a dress but I hate when skaters wear sheer tights over their boots. Who started this trend anyway??
i guess i didn't realize there was still so much tension between Alina and Evgenia. its unfortunate this competition and the conference that followed only gave new fuel to the fan wars. i also didn't know they didn't follow each other on IG, i figured they were at least civil.
Yes, I think you mean edea. I'm not a huge fan of their clunky boots eitherI also want to know which skate company started putting designs on the side of their boots. Was it Edea? I'm also very happy that both Anna and Sasha ditched their half over the boot tights. I'm so shallow about stuff like that
Agree, the side designs have gotten really popular, and they are uglyI also want to know which skate company started putting designs on the side of their boots. Was it Edea? Channel one in Russia sure got their money's worth. Tremendous competition with much support for skaters on both teams. That there was little tension in the final press conferenceBut that's what I meant though. The whole thing is setup to be Med vs Zag.
Putting aside the discussions about character, I actually don’t know if Aliona withdrew herself. She showed up to test skates, her cup stage, and Rostelecom in pretty poor form. The mention of doctors is pertinent here. Covid is very hard on conditioned lungs (it effects marathon runners worse, for example) and it put Zhenya in the hospital if I’m not mistaking. Her doctors may have prohibited skating to prevent long term scarring. Even if Kostornaia wanted to skate those are far different circumstances than say, Sasha skating on a stress fracture that will heal in the off season. And I never said that Plushy is a liar...again...you said it. I just said that Kostornaia withdrew herself. What Plushy said about that was just expected.
You mentioned that she generated drama before Readernick said that people here generated drama, and it sounds like you don't like Medvedeva for generating drama, but you don't mind the 'drama' that people here are generating. What if they are the same drama? She can't generate all that drama by herself, so perhaps if the people here cease their contribution there will be no drama.Or we could say that people on this thread have reactions to her statements in a press conference. Just like I have nothing constructive to add to the discussion of black tights so I scroll right past those posts.
Unlike the two team leaders this year who at worse said a few phrases slightly lacking in grace when exhausted, those two might really do or say things that might warrant true scrutiny. I would be worried anytime they opened their mouths. For me, the most troubling things said and done at this event ( other than a disregard for the existence of COVID) didn't come from the team captains but from Yagudin who was frankly insulting toward some of the male skaters when they were already obviously upset. Moskvina and Mishin would be wonderful team leaders imho.Maybe next edition could be team Plushenko vs team Yagudin![]()
I don't think it's so shallow. Skating is partly a visual art. Its supposed to look pretty and lines are important. There's a reason they dont show up to competitions in leggings and sweaters. While costumes and hairstyles shouldn't neccessarily affect scores, it affects the viewer's experience. Having an opinion on things you can see makes more sense to me than saying none of that matters because they all work hard and might be nice people.Yes, I think you mean edea.
