How is that someone's presence had no effect on how either team went, when every point counted into the total number. Every skater's performance had an impact on the total score. The difference of the total scores was not big (about 1 % of the winning score). You're not a figure skating fan from yesterday, you know that the same skater can have a perfect skate and a meltdown. Let's say Red Machine would have lost because meltdown in men, which is definitely not improbable variant. Should Alina then rant about that she had the weaker team? I don't think she should and most importantly I don't think she would, which is the main difference here. Not necessarily, but it's much easier to defend someone when their presence has no effect on how your team went.
The subtitles in this video after 21:00 fully convey the meaning and connotations of the spoken. You should have asked before claiming otherwise.Go ask a Russian speakerWho is not on team Alina or team Zhenya. You will get your answer then
I can guarantee you that if Alina did that, I would criticize her as well.Should Alina then rant about that she had to chose last and had the weaker team? I don't think she should and most importantly I don't think she would, which is the main difference here.
I’m also curious what was translated incorrectly, as a Russian native speaker.Subjective
Go ask a Russian speakerWho is not on team Alina or team Zhenya. You will get your answer then
The only thing Kamila's combos would get is a reduction in GOE from the total, it might count as bad landing. I believe invalid combos happen when there is a fall or weight transfer to the other foot. That's why skaters who do 3-turns in between jumps and they still counted as combos. But internationally, her -3T combos gets +3 GOE or higher.
I think it's quite clear from Alina's case that she just gained weight, which is pretty normal for most skaters after they stop training competitively. Anyone who goes from working out 8 hours a day to 1-2 will gain weight, unless you eat a lot less. And she's probably not on an athlete's diet anymore.
Your profile picture clearly indicates your preference. I said to go ask someone who is not an Alina or Zhenya fan.I’m also curious what was translated incorrectly, as a Russian native speaker.
Legitimately curious.
It’s actually very smart. Who doesn‘t love a friendly conflict? HahaIn general, I think pitting Alina and Evgenia against each other is not smart (though probably highly profitable as seen here).
I have and I encourage you to do the sameThe subtitles in this video after 21:00 fully convey the meaning and connotations of the spoken. You should have asked before claiming otherwise.
Does it change my understanding of Russian is the questionYour profile picture clearly indicates your preference. I said to go ask someone who is not an Alina or Zhenya fan.
Alina.Overall, she was cranky and impolite at that press conference and I won’t excuse that. Watching the press conference, I was rather disappointed myself. But let‘s just say she wasn‘t the only one. Alina Z’s insistence on there being only one winner in a fun event wasn‘t exactly the pinnacle of politeness either.
Let’s be honest. We as viewers got what we wanted too. Great skating on the weekend, and great soap opera for the weekdays. HahaAhhh! Tights are not controversial enough, we're back to this "press conference". The TV producers got what they wanted, and then some. Next time, the ice cream basket will be 10x larger and there will be a Mercedes GLS at stake.
Of course it does. There are many ways to interpret something someone says. Why do you think so many people have different perspectives of what was said. People can say things in English and 5 people in the room can infer a different meaning. Strange questionDoes it change my understanding of Russian is the question
It is an actual question, please state where there’s that inaccuracy in translation, stop avoiding the answer.
I really am curious what you’re going to come up with![]()
I would really like it if you would post what you have heard thenI have and I encourage you to do the same![]()
So have I. Alina's exhibition program shows that she is not really focused on competition anymore. No hate towards her, she should enjoy doing other things!I have accepted her (unofficial) retirement
I think Evgenia has that kind of drive to keep competing, and she has shown every indication that she will. However, I am unsure how the dynamic will work at the Eteri camp...I wish she would have stayed with Orser, but COVID affected everyone.Does anybody here really believe that Evgenia will return to competition with Anya, Kamila, Daria etc. training right in front of her?
I asked you to check with a Russian speaker who is not into figure skating. Sounds pretty objective to me. I mean I don’t really know how that is trolling?I would really like it if you would post what you have heard thenInstead of trying to repeatedly troll the thread.
If you cannot respect the fluency of Russian from actual Russians here, then maybe it's time to leave. Stop being obnoxious. You are doing nobody favors by defending your own favorite and calling everybody else biased.
Once again I'm asking you because it was you and not "a russian speaker" who came here claiming he is stating facts. Either you can prove you are stating facts or you can't. What you show is clearly escaping the question because you clearly can't defend your argument at all. You are responsible for your claims, not "a russian speaker". You lost. You can ask a Russian speaker like I said who is not involved in figure skating. I think that is objective enough. I said that was shady and anyone educated would think so with boring splattered throughout the vid.
Let me remind you of my facts
Team Medo won the Audience Award and had the highest points in 3 out of 4 disciplines. This is a fact that can’t be altered by subjective opinions on whether that award is worthless or not.
Right after the competition began, she pointed out the draw was changed which wasn’t agreed upon.
and if you want subjective:
I think winning a team competition based on an individual discipline is pretty funny. I’d rather be on the “losing” team

Lol, so the answer is you can’t prove your words. Ok then.Of course it does. There are many ways to interpret something someone says. Why do you think so many people have different perspectives of what was said. People can say things in English and 5 people in the room can infer a different meaning. Strange question
You have said here:I asked you to check with a Russian speaker who is not into figure skating. Sounds pretty objective to me. I mean I don’t really know how that is trolling?![]()
TO A RUSSIAN. Since you already possess this supposed translation THAT A RUSSIAN APPARENTLY DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THEMSELVES, then PLEASE PRODUCE IT.I have and I encourage you to do the same![]()
