Another great victory for Rita Bazyliuk in the February Traceries tournament.

Maybe the Elements segment is not everyone's cuppa, but Dariya is acquits herself well here and is a pleasure to watch.
I think Polina is there with her now that she has dispensed with Rita.
By the way, I think there's a second Dance Sequence video with Dariya, Veronika An and maestro Aleksei Zelezhnyakov, just been released, can't spot at present. Some great sea kelp movements.
The triple axel is everything. And Kamila's is the most textbook perfect one I've ever seen, with a close 2nd being Rika's 3A. I think Kamila will win Olympic gold, but even being in the top group will depend upon the 3A in the short.

In terms of textbook jump, I will give that to Rika over Kami.
Kami has great height and extension in her jumps. And of course her Rippon. But sometimes I really do get scared of her axis. Whereas Rika's one look far more less scary.

Everyone knows about the confrontation between Plushenko and Yagudin, as well as Medvedeva and Zagitova, but taking into account that it is a year before the Olympics and we see three girls with quads worthy as a minimum, claiming medals (and in a year the number of girls with 3A and quads can increase, but everyone will not go
I agree we can speculate about 5 or 6 names with reasonable confidence and cannot be certain till later who will go, One thing we can be more confident about is that there won't be those kinds of confrontation. Circumstances are entirely different now in almost every aspect, and people learn from the past even if they don't realise it, The only confrontation I would envisage would be the healthy kind on the ice. Those examples you cite are so severe in intensity and sheer horror that they are best considered exceptions. Think of Mariya, Adelina and any number of other examples through the years. There may well be a strong sense X is on top of the game at any moment, Y and Z a little less so (perhaps), There will be strong feelings, but these athletes have been immersed in intense competition, have won and lost aplenty and know their own limits and the effects of outside influences on themselves. I'm certain that of all the names being bruited, none would go in harbouring even the tiniest sense of entitlement, none would go without a strong sense of humility about any possible outcome, and none would be there as a high-stakes cough certainty or an underdog or a dark horse or with other over or under-inflated expectations. Healthy rivalries, yes, but these past few years will have rounded any sharp edges if any ever existed.

I’m not saying she couldn’t, just that she hasn’t.
Totally agree, Northern Italy is the only masonry-free country left.
China, US, Russia - she has her agents everywhere else.
She placed second at the 2 she was able to go to, and won the FS in both events with international judging. She also won 2 GP events and 1 challenger event with international judging so let's not pretend her success this year is an anomaly due to domestic scoring. Of the major players for the world team this year and the Olympic team next year she's been the most consistent with her competitions without a significant drop in her technical difficulty.

I thought Emmalee was referring to the 3A not the 4S, because she was replying to the post before hers....

I sincerely doubt that. Anna only had two ultra-c elements to Aliona‘s three. And even though 4Lz and 4F are higher in value than the 3A, she also made small mistakes (like the level 2 spin, some UR/q that probably would have not escaped a call internationally) whereas Aliona at the GPF was pretty much picture perfect.
Anyway, it doesn‘t matter all that much, since Anna will likely win her first World (and “major international“) title in March while Aliona’s not even likely to make the World team at all. The rest we will see.
