At least the vocalists are good?????"Cheesy" is an understatement, yawn...![]()
Yes, there are some songs by Gagarina I adore! At least the vocalists are good?????

I like Polina's voice very much, but this middle-of-the-road pop song doesn't give her vocal abilities much credit.Yes, there are some songs by Gagarina I adore!![]()

Exactly. Once the official song is released, you must go through with the event. It’s an unwritten rule. HahaI like Polina's voice very much, but this middle-of-the-road pop song doesn't give her vocal abilities much credit.
Still, hey, they can't cancel the worlds now![]()
The issue is probably Tv rights. Championchips are expensive to arrange and when there is no spectators selling the brodcast rights is the only way to make money. The stream situation is probably going to be different in every contry. But the ISU allways streams their championchips (usually on Youtube I think) in all contries where no one has bought the tv rights. So if your contry is stupid and dont brodcast it properly get yourself a VPN and watch from a contry that dont care about Figure skating (somewhere in africa or south america is what I usually go for).I am disappointed in ISU for not having a complete live streaming available everywhere - I would have gladly paid even if it was a PPV.
I wonder the Swedish TV could be convinced into offering that option, and maybe invite Ted for English commentary??? Russia did it, why not the Swedes![]()
I would say the same is true for Måns who is also a talented singer but the song is just so generic that neither of them can show of their full ability.I like Polina's voice very much, but this middle-of-the-road pop song doesn't give her vocal abilities much credit.

I guess you are right. I used Kaspersky Secure Connection last season, but I let it expire at the beginning of this season because I had no idea how much I would get out of it. Luckily I was saved mostly by the Russians for most of the season. But well, at the end of the day the cost of annual subscription (something like 28€ if I remember correctly) would be justified if you were to watch the entire WC live, I guess I have to bite the bullet. Plus hopefully ISU will learn to organize themselves better and we will see more action next season. The issue is probably Tv rights. Haha good idea... but sadly Swedish public TV doesn’t have the rights anymore. NENT (Nordic entertainment group) bought the rights last season. Viewers in Sweden, Finland Norway and Denmark have to pay a lot for access.I am disappointed in ISU for not having a complete live streaming available everywhere - I would have gladly paid even if it was a PPV.

I meant "Pay Per View", on payment. I am pretty sure most people would be willing to shell out a reasonable fee, if that guarantees a quality live viewing for the entire WC... or even per day.Don't know what PPV is, but I agree that worlds should be easily available for everyone.

Cancel again? At this point? They already paid the singers.
My stupid country doesn't care about figure skating and I still have to watch ISU events with VPNThe issue is probably Tv rights. Rrrrright.Er, not sure how relevant it might be to the thread, but there's a petition going around on Twitter called "#NoQuarantineNoWorlds". Not going to paste it in just in case the staff doesn't like it, but they take issue with how the athletes are being quarantined and how the bubble is being set up.
IDK. I am not an expert on how bubbles are set up or what not. I haven't signed this petition. The only thing I can say is that if they are not willing to take proper precaution, then I hope some higher authority steps in - but this will take actual evaluation, for me.I’m hoping for an explanation as to how is Worlds any different, read, less safe, than the speed skating? Or the Challenge Cup?
Y’know, I am not into petitions of any sort, but if someone can show me evidence that Worlds is less safe than all the other events, then sure, I will sign it. I mean, that would be BAD.IDK. Well they're still European skaters whereas World's literally has...skaters from all over the world. Why are people having such an issue with Worlds, when the ISU has already proven it can be done safely, and there are other figure skating events with MANY skaters (actually that Tallink thing is happening right now)?
I don´t want to be the negative voice here, but they just detected 4 cases from the Brazilian strain in Sweden. It´s the first time it´s detected in Sweden, and none of the infected have been outside Sweden, so it´s probably more cases in the society.Well they're still European skaters whereas World's literally has...skaters from all over the world.
Hopefully, the ISU will be sensible, but the mixing of so many people from so many different countries could cause a new strain to appear or could spread the South African strain which apparently isn't as well covered by the new vaccines.
Although I hear the cases are going down in Sweden which is a plus!
