Her mum is French (I think) and she grew up outside of Russia, so she never used it (some Russian fan told me that once). Why isn't Annabelle's last name Morozova? Or is the -a kinda optional?

Who got underscored among the ladies and overscored?
I have actually come around and enjoy the hot mess men event. It sparks more joy than the overwrought drama of ladies event.ah! also men were a mess and ladies a drama, so nothing out of the ordinary![]()

And the rest of the day, are any of my favorites (Aliev, Tuktamysheva, Daria/Denis) still alive?
is the stream re-windable, anyone know?
Drat. I wish wonderful skates tomorrow to all those “on the cusp,” as it wereYes, youtube stream is very rewindable.
Aliev 1A*, but otherwise fine. Tukt turned out her 3A as usual. Daria/Denis.... sadly fell on the throw and are 10 points behind M/G.
Thanks.Nugu is always lowballed. Her coach needs to be more vocal.Overscored: Kostornaya, Khromykh
Underscored: Nugumanova, Frolova
In my early years as a figure skating fan I only watched men and pairs (and Caro Kostner). With the advent of the Russian ladies (and here I mean starting with the early Liza Tuktik senior seasons) I got more into ladies' skating, but I feel myself gradually shifting back to men and pairs again. The turnover in the ladies is just to fast nowadays, it's hard to build an emotional connection. That might sound cheesy, but IMO figure skating as something that transcends sport and artistry requires a certain emotional involvement from the viewer. If the complete ladies field changes every two years, that's just not possible anymore.I have actually come around and enjoy the hot mess men event. It sparks more joy than the overwrought drama of ladies event.

I hope Aliona.has her redemption skate tomorrow.I hate to see Aliona cry
Indeed, Caroline Douarin, her mother is French ! She is a former skater too ! Annabelle was born and grew up in the US and represented US, then France in single and now Russia with Bagin !Her mum is French (I think) and she grew up outside of Russia, so she never used it (some Russian fan told me that once).
