2026 Russian Junior Nationals

Shayakhmetova/Berislavsky skated with mistakes but their program is so funny and dynamic. :love2:

Free dances started already.
Last day. I'm snowbound with a blizzard outside and -1 temps, so able to catch up with what I've missed. Lena-just wow. She skates out like a star, and she IS a star. Even if the program lacked transitions and coherence, she is never boring to watch. Happy for Lydia-and SHE seems so happy which is nice to see. And glad Sofia pulled up to 4th, her skating is so beautiful. Can't wait to see the pairs FS and then Ilya later today.

I just caught up on junior men's free. Kovtun had a delightful skate and Lazarev is such a fighter! I love the top five, save for Kolesnikov not being one of them. Certainly way, way stronger than that legendary Saransk Jr men event, heh.

does anyone know the age difference of the pair that skated just now? Or how long they've been skating together?

If you can catch any of the names or at least describe costumes/music, it would be easier to tell who it was. In general, Russian pairs have small age differences though as opposite to the internationals. I remember people were going down on Domozhirova/Vegera, but they are only like 2 years difference, and she started to catch up in growth.

Dvinina 14-15 (born 2011) / Potapov 19-20 (born 2006)
Vysotskaya 15 / Alekseenko 19
Shayakhmetova 14 / Breslavsky 19
Filimonova 18 / Pylnev 19

Arina/Matvei great. Arina is really impressive, great girl. To compete in two disciplines so close together must be so demanding.

Guseva/Ovchinnikov quad twist (y)

Though throw jumps spoiled it, one pop and one step-out.

Sabada/Astakhov 4STh. But fall from solo jump.

And possibly get 0 for final pair spin because he stepped on the ice with both legs.

Shesheleva/Karnaukhov quad twist but fall from combo.

They were second in the free but still won in total.
