She's portraying a caged bird?!?!?! First I've heard that. The music is so simple, so beautiful and straightforward that I saw her as young girl skating on a pond in the winter. The dress is perfect for winter. Now I want to see Jadis the Ice Queen dominating that pond! Go more Gaga with it. Her talent is once in a generation. She could be a crossover international celebrity. Daria and Maiia are experimenting with their makeup and it's helping them develop themselves. Kamila needs to get over her non-makeup/bun presentation and really BRING IT with the attitude, persona, etc.

I don't think that's her personality. But she said she would like to skate to happier music, so hopefully she'll get to experiment with different styles later.

Rika may be in the mix at worlds but she doesnt put up the high end scores Anna and Sasha do and if Aliona did not leave TT Rika would be completely boxed out. Not to mention Eteris secret weapon the KaMissle is coming to seniors next season!

Rika is very good of course and she benefits
from not having phenoms coming behind her to push her out of the way so then she gets to take her time and improve and mature. The Russian girls don't have that luxury because phenoms from TT are always coming up year after year.
Rika has only been behind because she makes mistakes and has a slightly less optimal jump selection on her triples. If you take Rika's PR for her SP and FS she's already close to but a bit behind the top scores for Scherbakova and Trusova. Then you add the 4S.

True.

But Rica is fortunate she only has to skate against the Russians and not 5 as Russia's should have 5 spots at worlds and and olympics.

Its her first time in a long time, there was a JGP where she had a mistake on the opening jump and the rest of the program she looked like she was near tears.
Yeah I'm not comparing them as juniors. They were completely different skaters then with different expectations and different competitive mindsets.

Rika would be going to World's even if she was Russian. She's better than Liza and in current form is much better than Aliona. Rika gets the highest PCS internationally in the world.

Rika would be going to World's if she was Russian. Rika's the only skater - other than Sasha - to score above 200 in every competition she entered in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. Even at Anna and Sasha and Aliona's best she has the tech to compete even coming back from injuries last year. She has a higher BV than Aliona - at her peak - as it stands. Rika also gets higher PCS than everyone but Aliona and that's changing now.

Rika WAS the phenom pushing skaters out of the way.

This isn't the Grand Prix final that she won where Alina was injured stepping on the telephone cable twisting her ankle. The
competition Rika faced in the Grand Prix final will be lightweight competition with what she's going to face at worlds this year and Olympics next year and of course she'is not threatened to lose her spot in Japan. That's the good news. The bad news is she will have to presumably beat Sasha Anna and KV to win Olympic gold next year. If she does that I will tip my hat to her.

I mean Alina won the Olympics and worlds in back-to-back years and had Anna sasha and Aliona nipping at her heels with KV Dasha and Maya coming on strong after 3A.
Alina has had 6 studettes from not only the same country but the same team coming on strong behind her. It can't be easy.

But world's may be more wide open than we think it is this year for the ladies partly because in a pandemic we don't really know who's healthy and who's still sick and of course not having KV there helps everybody's chances.

It's going to be a wild worlds and even wilder next season in the Olympic season. Get your popcorn and alka selzer ready! ;)

It's becoming crystal clear that Eteri could well have all six olympic entrants in 2022 and 2026. It hardly even feels controversial to muse about it aloud. 🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢

Liza could be the only fly in the ointment so to speak, though I wouldn't object at all to that. It would be nice for sentimental reasons, for both Liza and Alexei, and all their supporters, of course. not to mention, SPB fs 🦢🦢🦩🦢🦢🦢

Edit: I should add before the brickbats start flying, I am a supporter of Alexandra, I just think she has been unlucky with timing (in the same way as Sofiya, but in the wrong direction) and I think she may well still get a WCh sooner pr later under her belt before she hangs up her skates.

But funnily enough, she may well be an Eteri skater when that happens.

Yasmina is astonsihnigly dancerly. Was she singles as a junior?
That's one of the few pairs teams where I don't feel the man far more compelling,

It's nice to see Kamila getting an airing. She has been very low profile this season, apart from one Cup stage and a couple of provincials/ A pity about the costly mistake. A bit off-topic, but disappointing not to see Daniil in KMC. Is he just off the qualifiers? (So perhaps he could get a chance.)

Also, this crazy not so crazy thought popped into my head. If you gave Kamila only one skate, how long before she adapts and starts scoring 250 points using only one leg? Haha

Does anyone know what happened to Tarakanova? I was looking at protocols and noticed she wasn't listed
I was wondering the same thing, but then thought she was maybe skating Juniors. So she's not skating at all? Maybe she's seeing the writing on the wall and is either country hopping or hanging it in.

I sincerely hope someone can coax Elizaveta O away from Buyanova next season. (I'll refrain from airing my opinion here.)
She'll stagnate without some arm coaching and dance discipline. It would be a wasted talent, like Asya Tarakanova.

I'd like to see her go to Panova's or Anna Kravtsova at Davydov's.
Correction~ Alexandra Kravtsova/
