that's not what I heard. Yuna had practiced 3A. If I remember it right, she was practicing on that jump when she was younger. She just couldn't master it.
You make it sound like Yuna can do the jump if she really wants to. Yuna might be a great toe-jumper but the axel jump isn't one of the toe jumps, just so you know.
Well in an interview with Orser, before he was coaching Yu-na full time. He said that one of the reasons, the Korean federation had him working with Yu-na was hoping that Yu-na could perhaps learn the 3 axel. He said that progress was going well and she was fully rotating the jump, but then Yu-na started having knee problems. So the decided to hold off on it until after she stops growing.
