Actually I am a Math major. What we have in FS scoring technic is actually Arithmetic. LoL!Because math is still a thing. Which people fail to understand.

Is that the Olympic team next year or the world's team?
Congrats to the winners and to KV on trying some different things today. Experimenting in a competition like this was the right thing to do.
If Maya had skated like this would Zhenyas team have won? Congrats Maya on landing her to quads today and on winning the silver. Awesome. She just lights up the screen to like a movie star.
I wouldn't compare Kami here to Yuzu at Sochi. At Sochi like all the men flopped, it wasn't just Yuzu - he just happened to flop a tiny bit less. Kami here wasn't great obviously, but like Maiia was! So I honestly don't think it's that similar a situation.Kind of harsh assessments.
Most of these skaters seasons are over today and we should thank them all for giving all they have in a total cluster you know what of the season.
KV won yes. But she was experimenting Yuzu won Sochi Olympics flopping numerous times. KVs scoring potential is massive. Best 14 year old girl ever or at least since Tara. Obviously she's no sure thing for Olympic gold or even the Olympic team especially with Maya and Dasha nipping at her heels.
what a disgusting comment, even compared to the usual hate thrown around hereI have always wondered, could Maia purposely skated badly so that Zhenya's team lost....

The two team "competition" was actually a piece of well crafted entertainment. An elite athlete would not let an opponent win for the heck of it, unless is paid an exuberant amount of $$.I have always wondered, could Maia purposely skated badly so that Zhenya's team lost....
Patrick Chan also used to win falling all the time. And Sasha usually still podiums even with explosions. Math is still a thing people.Kind of harsh assessments.

Berestovskaya is with Davydov. But yes, she is probably one of the most charming and adorable skaters I've ever seen.Tarusina and Somolelkina charismstic really? Not to my taste at least. But maybe Somolelkina is aquiring some x factor, she got the tech power tough. From Tarusina I only remember her satokoesq like small jumps, and always well prepared. Bereszovskaia yes I agree there is charisma potential, but isn't she with buyanova?
(Only my opinion of course)

What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. Like completely unfounded and frankly stupid. There is NO reason to say that especially as even clean she wouldn't have closed the gap on her own - Liza needed to be clean on her 3As etc and Sasha needed to land her quads as well.I have always wondered, could Maia purposely skated badly so that Zhenya's team lost....
Liza N wasn't perfect either. She underrotated everything and had a downgraded 3T. She also fell on a 3F I think??Fun fact: Liza Tuktamysheva won PCS today!
I was surprised at first but thinking about it, I guess I'm not too surprised? I mean Maiia's FS isn't really that great IMO, Daria was a bit messy, Kamila had falls, Alyona wasn't nearly at top shape, Anna Frolova lacks a bit of projection and engagement quality. And while I really enjoyed Nugumanova and Talalaikina they definitely weren't going to give either of them highest PCS.
That has to be.... some kind of mistake....Fun fact: Liza Tuktamysheva won PCS today!
Berestovskaya is Nugumaniova junior version but with more complex quads and triples. She has 100% the sweetness of her and like Liza, you only have to see her smile to wish her to the podium...Berestovskaya is with Davydov. But yes, she is probably one of the most charming and adorable skaters I've ever seen.
I wouldn't say Sofia Samodelkina's skating is "charismatic", more like she has the most elegant arms out of all the juniors and lovely stage presence and projection. The second half of her FS is charming for sure, but I don't know if charismatic is really the term I would use... more like... lovely? I don't know.
Yeah, it feels odd, but who else would you have put in first? That has to be.... some kind of mistake....
I think she’s ready for a 3A but a quad is not for everyone. Maia persistance paid off but she had so many failures, I’m glad she did it today. It was a long run.Wait, really? I always thought there were like five thousand other Russian competitions towards the end of the season but I guess I'm mistaken. Okay, well, then good. Now it's time to work on getting the 4S and 3A consistent Daria!
Precisely my point. PhD in electronics is very admirable indeed. But and here it is - falling on ice, although doesn't cancel the performance in total, decreases the enjoinment from it to a considerable degree. I would have deducted many more points for such a folly, which in turn is bound to encourage skaters to produce a cleaner skate. IMO.Arithmetic is a branch of mathematics.
And I'm a graduate student about to start my PhD in electrical engineering in the fall and finishing my masters with a Bsc in EE (with an additional major in math) - if we're just going to start throwing out credentials now lol.
It's important to remember their base values. Even with Maiia landing two clean quads - she wasn't completely clean here either. She had an edge call on her flip and a weird hyroblade thing haha. Also she stepped out of her 2A in the SP. If she was clean across both programs she would have won but she wasn't.I wouldn't compare Kami here to Yuzu at Sochi. At Sochi like all the men flopped, it wasn't just Yuzu - he just happened to flop a tiny bit less. Kami here wasn't great obviously, but like Maiia was! So I honestly don't think it's that similar a situation.
Maybe something similar would be Anna at JGP Bratislava who won over Tarusina despite having a mistake on her experimental quad.
But yes, if Kami got 238 for these two performances, imagine what she would get if she was clean with 3A in SP and FS with 4S, 4T+1Eu+3S and 4T in the second half.
