I guess that's up for debate at the moment. It does seem like the comments on sports.ru are in favor of Eteri rejecting Alena but in the end it's Eteri's (and maybe RusFed's?) decision.
Comments on sports.ru tend to be more unpleasant than accurate, though of course it doesn't mean they're always wrong.

Totally OT, but how is that possible??? My cousin (we are from Italy) departed three weeks ago for Toronto where he will stay for the next year for a post graduate job at the university (I think he got a work or a study visa); all he had to do was opening a bank account with a preestablished sum on it and quarantine for two weeks upon arrival...so how comes international athletes cannot go back to their coaches? I doubt it is because Italy has a favourable covid outcome, since we are on the verge of closing everything again...sorry for the OT.
There are many different Visas. Not every Visa lets you enter and even with the same Visas one might have different experiences at the airport, even Canada wrote on their official website that at the end of the day the government worker at the airport decides if you can enter or not even if you have a good Visa.
"however, the final determination will be made by a government official at the port of entry."

Even Jason, a US citizen with a higher chance of entry, was only allowed entry after his second attempt. He was rejected the first time and US skaters so far were the only ones to make it to Canada IIRC.

In everyday day Russian ангина is just a sore throat.
No, sore throat is "горло болит". I have never heard anyone call simple sore throat "ангина". Maybe people who are sufficiently uneducated to not understand the difference exist, but Plyushenko/Aliona certainly weren't talking about a case of sore throat.

Eteri's team is growing exponentially. So much talent and Queen Tut is the one and the only. Even if Tut takes Aliona back, will she be able to devote that much time to the skater who many consider passé?

Yep, I really don't get it. I don't know about others, but since I was 15 I traveled all over the country all by myself(video game tournaments), and made decisions for myself as well, changed high schools at 17 as well. And a 17-year-old isn't a "child", and a 18-year-old isn't magically an "adult". It's individual for every single person. But frontal lobe development doesn't finish until late 20s for most, which is when I'd begin considering someone an adult. But I don't consider a 17-year-old a child. I would a 10-year-old.

A 17-year-old should be able to take responsibility for their own decisions and you can't just brush everything aside with "well she's just a child" or something ridiculous, I'd be furious if my mother thought so of me back then for example.
It's fine to say they're children, because they are. But it's irrational to lump 15-17 year olds in with 10 year olds. Crappy parents are those who rule their children with an iron fist, giving ultimatums under the disguise of "you're still a child so my word is law, your opinion doesn't matter." And then when the child is 18 they ask, "You're an adult now, why can't you make your own decisions, why don't you know anything?"

Development is a continuous process and I'm that glad to see that the skaters' parents seem to be allowing their children to make some of their own choices. Yes, children sometimes make rash decisions and the parents should always offer their guidance and support, but that also comes with developing as your own person. The number of comments I've seen here and elsewhere calling out the parents of these skaters for not forcing them against their will is crazy. Listening to your child's needs is not a sign of bad parenting, it's a sign of great parenting. 16/17 year olds should have a say in the decisions that go into something they've been doing for 10+ years.

Would PA even take her back?
I honestly don’t think he would. She just tried to leave (allegedly without telling him but we don’t know if that’s true), so I doubt he would allow her back as if nothing happened. That’s why this situation is so weird, she’s already left AOP and if Eteri says no... then what? I’m not a fan of Eteri & Co at all, but at this point it almost makes sense for them to just take her (even though I really don’t know if it will be beneficial for Aliona — so many skaters on the pecking order).

This could go in any direction. There were rumors in Sept that Eteri did not want to take Medvedeva back but the RusFed told her they’d boost her skaters scores if she did take her back (THIS IS RUMOR, I DO NOT PERSONALLY BELIEVE IT NOR IS IT NECESSARILY TRUE)

Doesn't really matter, same rules.
Yet US skaters traveling by car were accepted, while the ones who would have had to enter by air didn't even try for fear of being rejected, like Evgenia. Jason was rejected the first time mid June and was allowed the second time, with additional letters from US FS Federation, late June.

Word "rumor" is used pretty lightly if it's used to refer to any nonsense that doesn't even have a source.

To me rumor's something more tangible than what a random person says on twitter.

Exactly, which is why I don’t really believe it, but who knows what goes on. None of us work for the RusFed or Eteri, so we just hope for the best

At least Eteri had some decency and announced Alyona "leaving her/ being kicked out" on a Friday afternooon, when people could safely get indulged in the drama without jeopardizing their careers and long-term life goals. ..

Right? Won't the Russians think of us poor common folk who have to work and study? Release news on Friday afternoons please!

I'm beginning to think this big decision tomorrow is going to be some televised interview like Alina retirement interview. Russian tv definitely knows to milk any fs drama. Have 1tv interview Alena first, then Eteri comes in, Alena weeps and asks for Eteri forgiveness. Alena gives the nation the apology that TAT demanded. They kiss and make up. Eteri brings in all the non-grata kids and lines them up and makes Alena apologise to them one by one. Haha only joking. But seriously the decision could go either way and we dont even know the exact time it will be announced.
