I really think that everything was already said in Alionas case.

How about we focus on the upcoming worlds?

I'm most interested on what Sasha will do.
Will she go for relatively safe 3 quads and settle for silver? Coz it does not seem to be much into her character.
Also, can she be sure of the silver with 3 quads? I quess no if Rika goes clean, right?

Do you think she will try the 3A? I quess if I was her I would try in the short, even if she stumbles around there doesn't seem to be much to lose point wise?

To challenge Anna she would surely need unless 4 quads...
I think triple axel and three quads could definitely challenge. We've not seen the triple axel since the injury have we? Trying 3 quads would be good for her, 2 4Lzes and a 4T. Her 3Lz-3Lo looks better recently as well.

The injury has really put into question her 4T. I hope she has it consistent.

I think Sasha only needs 3 quads. But she needs to be CLEAN. If she can do that she can beat Anna.

Anna will probably go for 3 quads aswell, but I have a feeling she won't succeed.

Anyone can win this. If both Anna and Sasha don't land their quads, it opens up for a lot of girls, even Liza.

Yes, I think that this rivalry between Anna and Sasha will push them both to up their tech and it might make things very surprising and interesting.

I have to admit that I have issues with both of them (those nasty pretotations) so I would love to see Rika or Liza winning.

Kamila's interview, for anyone who hasn't already read it.

Thank you for posting this! The part of the interview that surprised me most was

"Evgenia Medvedeva said that you work very, very hard. Please tell us what do you like more - to train or to perform? And why.

I think that Evgenia also worked a lot when preparing for serious and significant starts for her. It's just that there are few people in our group who work."

Is this a mistranslation? I would assume everyone in Tutberidze's group works extremely hard.

As much as I love the Japanese girls, I am hoping for a Russian sweep here. Wouldn't it be lovely if Liza can be on the podium again??
Someone pointed out she had a gold and bronze at GPF and a gold and bronze at Euros - how funny would it be if she got a gold and bronze at Worlds? My dream podium consists of Sasha, Rika and Anna, but I wouldn't be mad if Liza snuck on there especially if one of those girls makes a mistake and Liza goes completely clean.

At Euros:
Anna under-rotated her 4F, fell on a downgraded 4Lz, and under-rotated her 3Lo. She still scored 159.81 in the FS. (She landed one clean quad - 4Lz-3T.)
Sasha fell on her 4Lz, popped her 4F into a 3F, and fell on a downgraded 4T. She still scored a 150.39 in the FS. (She landed one clean quad - 4T-3T.)

At GPF:
Anna fell on her 4F and underrotated her 4Lz. She still scored a 162.65 in the FS. (She landed one clean quad - 4Lz-3T)
Sasha popped her 4S into a 2S and underrotated and fell on her 4T. She still scored a 161.73 in the FS. (She landed three clean quads: 4F, 4Lz, backloaded 4T-eu-3S.)

Really only Rika can match that. Liza at her cleanest is around 150-155 (remember she's not upgrading) - so lower than giant mistakes from Anna and Sasha. Rika and Liza (and Bradie barely) are the only other ones to break 150. No one else (besides Aliona) has broken 160.

Anna and Sasha don't need to land their quads and be completely clean. There aren't a lot of girls that can take advantage of even a meltdown from them. At Euros both girls had 3 mistakes in the FS and both scored 150+. At GPF both girls had 2 mistakes in the FS and both scored 160+. They are 2 of three girls in the world to score over 160 in the FS and the third one isn't here. Furthermore, neither of them were close to clean. (Sasha wasn't even clean when she scored a 166.62 falling on her opening 4S.) And their PCS will be higher this year.

Basically: As long as they land at least one quad cleanly and rotate everything (even if they fall) the only ones who can take it from them are each other and Rika.

Anna and Sasha generally do fine with or without the quads as long as they complete the other elements. Sasha, despite two falls at 2020 Euros, still landed a quad, six triples, and a 2A with positive GOE. The two failed quads, factoring in the fall penalty, still added ~6.25 points, around the same as a well-executed 3Lo. So her program was the equivalent of a quad + 7 triple + 2A program, which makes it hard for those without anything beyond a lutz because they essentially have to make up the value of a quad through PCS or other elements.

Basically, Anna and Sasha have three ways to beat the field (except Rika): (1) go clean, (2) miss a quad but hit the other 6 or 7 triples, or (3) nail the quads and miss a few triples.

I think Sasha only needs 3 quads. But she needs to be CLEAN. If she can do that she can beat Anna.

If Shcherbakova goes for 3 quads and is clean, I don't think that Trusova can beat her with only 3 quads unless she cleanly lands that triple axel in the SP which she hasn't done all season. Shcherbakova is the better spinner and gets better PCS scores than Trusova, and Shcherbakova I think will have politicking in her corner as the 3-time Russian champ. If Trusova only goes for 3 quads she needs to make sure she's repeating the lutz so I would think it would be: 4Lz, 4lz+3T and some version of a 4T; that would make her pretty comparable to Shcherbakova who if she goes for 3 would be doing a 4Lz, 4F and then 1 of them in combination; she has the benefit that she's been doing the flip and its a 1.5 more points than the solo quad toe unless Trusova were to back-load the 4T or do the 4T+eu+3S combination.

Are they allergic to facial expressions though, I don't think either 1 of them had single change in their facial expression. I would think 'dance classes' would be where you would work with skaters on facial expressions with music
Oh, really?

Yes, that's google translate for you :)
"It's just that there are few people in our group who work." should be
"It's just that there's no one in our group that doesn't work hard."
Google gets confused where the word мало is in the sentence. Thinks it means "few (people)" instead of "little (amount)".

Switch мало to last and you get

Просто в нашей группе никто не работает мало.

"It's just that in our group, no one works little."

Now it gets it!

Is there really no chance for Kaori, (Satoko,) or Bradie to get on the podium? How do they stack up against Liza T.?
Bradie? With her under-rotated 2-2s and 2002 attitude? Please no, we are better than that.

The only chance I see is Rika melting down, her quad is relatively new, she tends to falter in big competitions. But also I'm sure that if bombs Liza will be right there to use it to her favor. That girl brings it on when she sees an opportunity.

If Liza really falters then Kaori or Bradie (...) could outscore her but that would still be 4th place.

The only way they could get a medal is if both Liza and Rika bomb and that seems to be very unlikely.
