I imagine this topic has been covered, but just wondering how to watch the upcoming Worlds on my computer. Thanks

I am assuming ISU will do the full streaming, or the Swedish organizers will arrange one. I bought VPN from Kaspersky as there is a high probability of geoblock. 30€ investment IMO is reasonable considering that this way I can watch the entire event of the sole major international competition of the season without battling with insecurity, malfunction, partial coverage, national bias etc. etc.

Not sure where are you from but I live in Czechia and I'm subscribing Eurosport, it's 5 e a month and they also cover all GP events with decent commentary :)

As for VPN I can also recommend Hola if it's just a one time thing it's free.

German TV Station ONE is going to show parts of Worlds, so if you can stand to listen to Daniel Weiss, and it'a not blocked you could watch their stream. They won't show everything live on TV, though. Here is the schedule.

J-Sports will also show the entire competition. The viewing options are here. The ISU should publish the "where to watch" in a few days.
Other options include fan streams. SYWTWFS might publish links to a few, and sometimes people on GS find livestreams as well.

For free, safe ways to watch, the ISU will livestream the event with geoblocks on their Youtube page. If you're in a country with a broadcast, you'll need a VPN with servers in a country without a broadcast.

For VPNS: I would not recommend Hola, it is free but it's not very safe and the geoblocking isn't super effective. ProtonVPN is free with connections to the Netherlands, Japan, and the US. For other free VPNs, check out Windscribe, TunnelBear, or Hide.me, which have more servers and are secure, but unfortunately have monthly data caps. South America probably won't show much of the competition, so if you want, you can install the browser Opera, which has a free built-in VPN that can connect to South America. That will likely get past the Youtube geoblocks. Just a heads-up, Opera is run by the Chinese government.

I just asked Eurosport whether they’ll broadcast Worlds and they replied back saying they don’t have the rights to do so. I remember asking them something similar around November and getting a different answer. This is honestly so confusing…
Sounds like another case of the right hand not knowing what the left foot does, or however that saying goes.

Eurosport may have the rights to *stream* but not broadcast, or both, and either may be different per country.

I don’t believe for a second Eurosport doesn’t have any rights to show Worlds to the Netherlands, be it via stream or on telly. I will wait and see, because as usual, that appears to be the only way to really know the truth. 🤪

Odd. Eurosport (player) definitely had the rights for the 'national' GPs (you can still watch them on there). But I understand from the ISU page that we can watch the ISU YouTube channel in any case. Like Winnie_20 I'll wait and see.

I checked the Eurosport schedule on my TV this morning and it's showing broadcasts for the first two days of competition on Eurosport 1/2! The schedules for Friday/Saturday aren't listed yet though.

Youtube geoblocking is weird sometimes. My country is always asterisked, but last year I could watch Skate America and Canada, Cup of China, IdF and Euros on Youtube, but not NHK, Rostelecom or GPF. Same was this year - I couldn't watch NHK or Rostelecom.

The ISU where to watch is here!
France and the Netherlands are on highlights only, so it's possible the ISU will livestream the events there. At least, that's what they did with 4CC and the Grand Prix Series.
Interesting link....They show for the US, Peacock of course....but not NBC broadcast rabbit ears? Johnny and Tara are perhaps geoblocked in the US? The really nice thing about buying a week or 10 days of Japanese TV is you get 100 stations live and on demand. Worked out well for their nationals...I have been happy with Peacock, personally.
I can see where the ISU would make lots of money selling broadcast/streaming rights to all those countries....but my hope for the future is there is a one stop shop....live in Japan? You can watch on Fuji TV...but you would also have the option of watching worlds live and on demand on a platform such as youtube for a few yen....

Well I can't really complain. Our broadcaster shows some events on TV and streams and stores everything on website completely for free plus we get Youtube sometimes. But I wish Youtube was available this time because after such empty year I want to watch it on big screen, not computer or phone ;)

Probably a slightly more niche VPN option, but I have MacAfee Livesafe (anti-virus software) which comes with a built-in VPN as part of the package. It seems to work well for me, and is (I would hope) secure, as it's provided by an anti-virus company!
I think you can get just the VPN as a standalone too.
