Trusova hasn't done a 3 quad program clean all season and in the last 2 years she's had what 3 clean FS's, 1 of which was a 2 quad program. I don't know if "going for broke" here is a good idea, like you said next year Valieva will be a senior and Kostornaia might regain her form with Eteri so a meltdown here could be disastrous for her team selection chances next year.
It's all up in the air. But this is the chance for Sasha Anna and Rika to compete for a world title or a major title with out KV breathing down their neck.

And in the same video, Megan also made comments about the Korean girls "you're just watching little replicas of Yuna Kim... I have a hard time finding them amazing because they're just all the same, they're not being themselves". Basically you're not an individual unless she crowns you as one. How is this woman not getting more backlash and how is she still reputable?

That's especially funny because I think only Lim Eunsoo does "Yuna Kim" (and does it well)... Others not really, and Haien Lee is clearly going for something Asada-esque.
And even if they have similar skating styles, that doesn't mean they're the same. Many skaters have similar styles, which is normal when you have a specific set of requirements that each program has to include. There can only be so many variations. Maybe she finds a style boring, but it's so toxic to lump everything you don't love into one category, especially since these are actual people.

She keeps mentioning she wishes they would "break free" and I'm just like break free of what? It sounds like she wants them to mold into what she thinks they should be, which is the complete opposite of individuality.

Eunsoo definitely copies Yuna a lot. There's a lot of choregraphic moment and facial expression that looks like she's trying to be Yuna 2.0. The others not so much.

Is this really the layout she did in her runthru? I haven't been trusting the planned content released to us cuz I doubt Anna is only trying one quad and Rika only one triple axel in her free.
This is what is being said about her evening practise. And there are videos of her landing 4S and 4F in the evening, as well as two 4Lz falls. But not confirmed.

It's better to not pay attention to certain skaters' opinions about artistry lol. They probably think watching five So You Think You Can Dance videos gave them a complete understanding about musicality and dance quality. Hey, maybe they think they're Simon Cowell or Nigel Lythgoe  Not as funny though, nor with as good of an eye.

Comon guys don't be so over sensible what a retired skater said in a trash show. Her wording is not ok, but it doesnt deserve so much attention. After all this is russian skating thread. I mean when the most legendary coach of russian history TAT utters something its basically ofensive to someone im some way in 99% of the times

Yes, but I think many of us thought Megan was better than that. No one thinks TAT or Yagudin are better than that I quite liked Megan because she is so technically knowledgeable and because she was bullied by TAT while she competed which made me want to support her. Seeing her say something truly rude and personal about another skater is disappointing. She should know better. She was quite harsh in her criticism of many skaters, but none of her other criticisms ( including her rather lackluster opinion of Satoko, Rika, Korean girls, Yuzuru, Nathan so on) were personal.

Really dislike watching this channel....

I couldn't find some of the Anna attempts I saw here. Anna is having some issues with leg wrap? The first 4Lz fall and then the 3F-3T. Even the 2A.

You have a point.

Don't underestimate Anna. Some skaters have better practices than others but usually, that's not a clear indication of how the actual competition will go. I wouldn't judge a skater's shape or physical/mental state just going by their practices.

Of course they're going for gold! Saying that the main goal is to skate clean doesn't mean they don't care about the gold. For a nervous competitor like Sasha, it is a good strategy to focus on yourself rather than the competition results, but for skaters who are actually in contention for gold, skating clean is not just a personal satisfaction, it's the means to the end.
I'm not underestimating her, to me she is still the favorite for the gold. Mostly because she is a steely competitor while Trusova is one of the most inconsistent Russian girls we've seen since Sotnikova.
But what I'm saying is: according to practice reports, Anna seems wobbly. Facts. So with a 3A and 2-3 quads Sasha could be very comfortable if she shot for the gold. Instead she puts 5 quads in the FS which is programmed to give her several falls, as it always has and always does. That will kill her GOE and lower her already low PCS..

I get your point and its valid. Well now we know she is in the same category with Yagoudin and Tat. Only thing I disagree: she is as anyone untiteld to have a rather lackluster opinion towards satoko ect. Trashing anna in the way she did was absolutely not ok and very low/discriminatory

Agree. I am sorry if my post was not clear. Her harsh criticism of the other skaters was fine in my book because it wasn't personal. It was only her critcism of Anna that crossed the line.

I'm not giving that channel any clicks after this morning. Here was from Shcherbakova's training today of a few of her jumps, look fine to me with no leg wrap

These are her quads no leg wrap either https://www.instagram.com/p/CMul99ZBmw-/?igshid=1c96t11chuw6g

Shcherbakova is 1 im not concerned about bad practices, she's had instances in the past where she's had bad practices (Skate America last year it was said she couldn't hit the quads all week in practice) and warmups but competition time she always seems to deliver.

Wait, do you mean all in the free program?? I like Anna, but I kind of hope that Sasha keeps dominating at worlds
Even spread across both programs, it's a beast of a layout to tame.

Like some people are saying, I hope she's just testing things in practice and is not actually going for them all in competition. But she was going for 5 quads at last Worlds, so, who knows, maybe she still wants to go all or nothing here.

I am worried about her because the competition atmosphere is not the same, it's more like a practice. Anna seems to thrive off the high energy atmosphere in competitions and she also feeds off the energy from the audience which brings out her best performances (she said the audience support helps her a lot too). They're not going to have that here, it's going to be dead silent which is more like a run through.

I don't know if she needs the atmosphere to be at her best, but from what we've seen she is a skater that thrives off competition.

I think if Alina were still competing she'd really benefit from these competitions as she was always clean in run throughs when she made mistakes in competition. Anna seems like the opposite.

It's such a shame because I would love for there to be a channel just like theirs, where they do recaps and previews of competitions, talk about what's going on news wise etc. It's enjoyable as a FS fan and it might randomly pop up in a new person's feed who may then become interested in the sport. Becauts let's be honest, nobody new stumbles across this forum here by accident. Youtube is another story.
But sadly there is no other option who puts out content at their rate, depth or commitment. So either you watch them, or nothing of the sorts.

And not only are they the only option, they even get big names of the sport to join them! I mean, Olympic Medalists.. so that's what people see on Youtube as a representation of our sport's fandom...
