The transitions in and out of Maddie's double axel are so good. The program was so good. I was nervous for her, but she didn't even seem phased by the score, even though her coach definitely was lol

So happy for her, what a beautiful perfect skate, all positive GOE!!! Her jumps were so effortless, and her speed/expression much improved in such a short time. Such confidence, she really skated like she belonged in the top 10.I stand correctedJapan and Russia have their spots basically locked up. The third skater doesn’t matter.
no. for 2 spots, placements need to add up to 28 or less (any placement from 16-20 is worth 16 pts). and it's pretty unlikely both teams are going to bomb that hard.Help me out here; are we in danger of losing our 2nd pairs spot?
They are 10th and 12th, so I wouldn't say so as long they keep calm in the free skate.Help me out here; are we in danger of losing our 2nd pairs spot?
I believe they had a music/time violation.Maddie was one of the highlights of the ladies SP for me!! She looked so calm and collected and that 3Lz-3T was a beaut!!
Gutted for MT/M though - and even more gutted for W/M who seemed to get their spin invalidated by Trennt's wobble which seems so unfair! And whatever the deduction was for! I was watching Eurosport and both Chris & Simon were aggrieved by their score. Hope both teams pick themselves up for the Free tomorrow!
Yes, exactly!Yassssssss Maddieeeeee!!!So happy for her, what a beautiful perfect skate, all positive GOE!!! Her jumps were so effortless, and her speed/expression much improved in such a short time. Such confidence, she really skated like she belonged in the top 10.
Thanks for this information. I was racking my brains to try to remember how this works. I assume something similar applies to singles. Does anyone who makes the free skate get no more than 16? Is there anything Madeline can do now to get two spots for Canadian ladies?no. for 2 spots, placements need to add up to 28 or less (any placement from 16-20 is worth 16 pts). and it's pretty unlikely both teams are going to bomb that hard.
Yes, the same rules apply in all disciplines. Anyone that makes the free gets max 16pts, and anyone who doesn't make the free gets 18 pts. Thanks for this information.
