I don't think so it was q. The toe may have been UR but neither of those jumps was a flip or lutz so that doesn't have anything to do with whether a flat edge should , following the rules, be called and GOE deducted on the jump. This isn't about the scoring yesterday, it is about all scoring and it should happen because that is the rule. If they don't want to follow the rule, they should change it.
Hopefully you'll show such scrutinity for every other skater with an unclear edge. There are quite a few, so I'd look forward to equal treatment for all.

And the slow-mo quite clearly shows the axel as UR but I guess it's an "opinion".

Between all the bickering and discussions, did we actually get any footage or reports from today’s practice of Anna, Sasha or Liza?
I might've missed something, but I don't think we did. Personally I couldn't find anything. I guess everyone was in the main rink today.

Any practice notes from today?
I’m a little worried about Sasha. I hope she’ll get through this, both physically and mentally, especially mentally.
Curious on Anna’s condition as well. Hopefully the short program boosted her confidence a bit...

Btw does anyone know what's going on with Sofia Dzepka, I know she has been injured this season and she seems to have switched coaches recently and left cska too but does anyone know when we possibly will be seeing her again?

On the topic of emotions, everyone is just different. If you're a fan of Alina/Alena/Daniil (lol), you'll see every emotion on their faces. And if you're a fan of Eteri or Mishin, good luck.

But that doesn't mean the people who aren't crying or laughing are emotionless, nor does it mean they're suppressing their emotions (although they might be and they can be, of course). Some people just process their emotions internally, which can be perfectly healthy too. Some people are super sensitive, just not on their faces. And on the other side, there's nothing wrong with crying, it's also a way to process. They aren't too sensitive, too unstable, or anything else. Everyone's different. Someone who doesn't react outwardly could be more emotional than someone sobbing, and vice versa.

We can't predict their mentality based on what's seen, only the people close to them have that kind of insight.

There are so many comments based on the skaters' and coaches' reactions; if they don't react, they don't care enough. If they do react, they're taking it too seriously. It's nuts.

Not that I've seen my guess is that with limited cameras in the bubble and actual competition going on that the media was focused there.

I appreciate Anna, she's very expressive and graceful, musical. She has good flow on the jumps, she's consistent.
But I really wish she would just stick with triples, those prerotated, toepickless quads are awful.

That's why I would prefer Rika or Sasha to win, faulty technique should be discouraged, not given a gold medal of world championships.
Unfortunately none of them is good enough.
Both Trusova and Kihira have unclear flip edges. Kihira I would add also has dubious rotations. Her 3A has always been borderline and her new quad jump 4S also looks that way. Seeing her jumps this week in practice and competition and her rotations are worst. Don't count on her landing a fully rotated 3A and 4S on her LP unless the technical controller turns a blind eye. Anna Shcherbakova will continue to land her quads because she can actually rotate them.

Trusova does. Rika has perfect edges on all of her jumps. One of the few but these skaters do exist ;) Not commenting on the rest, your comment was just inaccurate.

Traditionally URs have not been a problem for Trusova or Kihira. Only this season has the 3A UR been a problem or her 3T. But, Kihira is still dealing with her injury and took time off jumping after JN. We will see but she may indeed struggle here. Anna's quad has also been UR in practice here...Trusova is the one with the best rotation on her quads especially that 4S is beautiful!

Never should the anger be directed toward a skater. They don't score themselves. They just go out and do the best they can on any given day. But, I think it is fine to want more fair scoring that actually follows the rules. Judges should be held accountable for their choices and for not doing their jobs correctly just as we all are in our professions.
Unfortunately, most of the time it is directed at the Skater. Just look at how many are dumping on Anna.

A few are and that's unacceptable but really very very few people don't like Anna as a person and almost all posts I have been have seen have commended her and just questioned the judging and that is absolutely acceptable. Additionally, pointing out a skaters technical flaws is not hating it is being honest. It's a sport with rules. Judges should follow them .

Both Anna and Sasha have struggled with under-rotations on their quads in the past.

When 90% of edge call criticism around the internet is focused on Anya, despite the fact that over half of skaters have one issue or another with edges, then it is about the skater. Stop trying to pretend otherwise.

There is an Austrian Alpine skier (Feller) who has the most awful skiing technique ever. It looks messy and he's all over the place, and the "expert" commentators always give him negative critique for his technique. But sometimes it works, and he wins. The goal is to have the fastest time, and that's what matters.

Same goes for figure skating. It's a numbers game. Who cares about technique if you can get the points and get the job done?
I don't really think you can make that comparison. Skiing is not a judged sport, there are no points for TES or GOE. Whoever finishes the given course in the fastest time is the winner, even if they ski the whole course backwards and on one ski with flailing arms. In skating there are technical requirements for the jumps that need to be fulfilled to get the points, so imo it is a completely different case.

Sasha's run-through today:

3F+3T, 4S (fall), 3Lz+3T, 2A / 4Lz+3T, 4T (fall/bad landing?), 3Lz+Eu+3S

I can't make sense of it. If I had to guess they've probably canned the 4F and are going for:

3F, 4S, 4Lz+3T, 2A / 4Lz+3T, 4T, 3Lz+Eu+3S

But I really don't know.

Edit: They're also saying she left practice early so now I'm really worried, I hope she's alright. She looked so strong earlier this week.

Edit: Anna did even worse I am now losing my mind
