COC - Ladies Long ponderings (Spoilers)

Yay!!
Yuna's protocol is so clean!!
One thing bugs me though...she's got only level 1 for step squence.
It did seem like she was little shaky, perhaps missed some part.
And in this disastrous Cup of China, you can blame it all to the ice!!

It's well known fact that Yuna's mom is all behind Yuna's jump technique. Her mother once said she was so strict about jumping technique that sometimes, she felt sorry for her daughter. She should be happy now that finally the day has come Yuna got rewarded for her hard work. Seriously, Yuna's mom should do some coaching job.

Susanna is apparently still having back pain and according to her there is many reasons for that. She says she has to consult a doctor and physiotherapist when she's back home.

Get well soon, Susanna!

My source: http://www.stll.fi/?x2126=229314 It's in Finnish. At this link Susanna does not talk anything about the ice quality but it, of course, does not mean that there could not have been any problems with the ice.

I found myself singing and dancing all around, and yes! Yu-na made my day!!! A new PB! just can't wait to watch it:love::love::love:

I am dissapointed in Yu-Na's score. I hoped for a bigger score.

I'm okay with it. If she had hit that triple lutz she would have scored 128/129 points. And well she received only level one steps.

I also think her transitions could be a bit better.

She popped her second Lutz and got only level 1 for her step sequence.
Maybe She can break 190 after skating clean at COR.

BTW Yuna was the only girl who didn't fall.
The ice was melting down and it was heartbreaking to see other ladies fall, fall, then again fall.

Her PCS was way too low though. How on earth did she not get the highest PCS of the season by far so far with that performance. Yet it was lower then what Asada at SC and Meissner at SA got.

I just woke up and haven't watched any clip, but MAN! The ice sure sounds terrible. I honestly think China should give their grand prix event to other better prepared countries, maybe Finland?

But it's different judges. Frankly, I'm not wild about Yu-na's program. However, Meissner's PCS weren't even a half point higher than Yu-na's, and Mao's were barely a point over. It could just be that there was a judge or two who was a little bit stricter, than at Skate Canada/Cup of China.... Who knows.

It could be her program..? But well considering Yu-na's GOE's. Girlfriend is going to be just fine. She didn't get a single negative GOE for her whole program, and that if I'm one of her competitors would scare me...

Finland? I would love that.

Just watched Yu-Na's LP. I have to say that I prefer Lark Ascending to this one. But still I'm happy that Yu-Na put out a near-clean LP. I really wish she could skate the Lark program for another year or even just one more time and leave a clean copy. It was a master piece. Her SP and LP last year was a magic compination, both are master piece and in such different style, showcased Yu-Na as a versatile skater and artist. This year's programs just can't compete with her last year's. But when think about it it is understandable. Those two programs are really difficult to beat.

I am very happy about the GOE she got. I hope she can find a way to boost her PCS as the season moves along though. I guess I liked her program more then you, but maybe it could be a bit more exciting.

I think maybe I'll like it more, but one thing I love about Yu-na is her arms and we don't see it that much in this program. I loved her short though..

Yeah I agree. Maybe as she finetunes the program she will incorporate more arm movements.

Czisny:cry: What can I say? At this rate, she will be easily surpassed by younger skaters. Zhang obviously surpassed everyone but Kimmie. Ashely has much more solid triples, and there are Marai and Rachael. I only wish she can show that magic at Nats again this year.
And congrats to Yuna for the seasonal best lp score, I still haven't seen her lp, but her TES is  If she manages to skate clean at worlds, the title is hers.
BTW, I noticed Mao and Yuna's resumes are strikingly similar. Each sweeped junior competition. Mao won gpf on her first year, and so did Yuna. Last season, Mao had bronze at her first gp and gold, and so did Yuna. And this year, 3rd finish at sp and then gold for both of them. Spooky...

Caroline Zhang's LP
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULesGsk9Fb8

Bad skate for her standard, but I'm really happy for her 3f+3t. The second 3t looked so much higher and was definitely fully rotated.

Looks like she's tired in the end. Maybe it's because she had to use all energy to vault higher for her jumps in the first half?

Wow, Caroline's arms really bug me during her jumps, they're swinging all over the place. Especially in the lutz, it's not very good technique, not at all. But on a more positive note, that layback=

so Zhang will go to Turin.. this is so huge for such a young skater.I'm impressed, though I think she has to work a lot on jumping technique and speed!

That is far from being decided yet, isn't it?
I would say she's on the bubble.
I'm guessing the four spots would probably go to Yuna, Mao, Miki, and Meissner.
The final two spots should be up for grabs among Nakano, Kostner, Zhang, Joannie, and somebody else maybe?

Now that she's done with her competitions, it will depend on how others will do, but all in all I think she showed great potential and many wonderful things to look forward to.
