I also translated the free of ONE. The other commentator here is Stefan Lindemann who was on the phone. He is a former german figure skater and was third at Dortmund Worlds 2004, the last medal Germany earned it Men's figure skating. Carolina Kostner was commentating on the Ladies, that's why Daniel Weiss mentioned her in this commentary.

This is also true for Shoma Uno.

Four Quads to start with, that's his plan. Dancing on my own and Your last Kiss, his music. Quadruple Salchow, I think it was a two footed landing, next up is Flip and then the Toeloop. Very strong the quadruple flip, from my point of view flawless.

The plan is another quadruple jump, the toe loop and it is perfect!

Daniel: Um sich erst mal das okay abzuholen, war das gut? hehehe Ich glaube Stefan, das war richtig gut.

Stefan: Das war richtig gut, das kann man auf jeden Fall sagen, ja. Das freut mich sehr für den Shoma Uno. Er war ja ne Zeit lang, eine kurze Zeit auch ohne Trainer gewesen und dann hat sich der Stéphane Lambiel ihm angenommen und ich glaube er tut ihm richtig gut.

Daniel. Weißt du warum er ohne Trainer war?

Stefan: Das weiß ich nicht genau, ich hab das nur mitbekommen das er da sich da von seinen damaligen Trainer, oder Trainerinnen, weiß ich jetzt nicht so genau, getrennt hatte, dann ne Zeit lang auch alleine trainiert hatte und dann in das Team von Stéphane Lambiel mit hineingegangen ist.

Daniel: Ja, und wir haben gesehen, der vierfache Salchow ist markiert als leicht unterdreht, war aber noch einigermaßen okay, und auch der vierfache Toeloop wurde markiert, da hat er noch nachträglich Abzüge bekommen. Aber Dancing on my own das hat er genau, das hat er gemacht, die letzten vier Minuten, er hat getanzt, er ist geglitten, er hat ne tolle Musik für sich ausgewählt, da konnte er wirken, das hat Carolina Kostner ja gestern auch bestätigt, es ist wichtig das der Sportler die Musik auch mag und umsetzen will und ich glaube dieses *hust* hat man bei Shoma Uno, Entschuldigung gespürt, das er genau das umsetzen wollte.

Stefan: Ja.

Daniel: Und dennoch finde ich es absolut okay, die Programmkomponenten von Jason Brown wird er nicht erreichen können, was ich, ja was ich durchaus nachvollziehen kann, weil der Schlittschuh gleitet nochmal viel schöner. Und hier die herzliche Umarmung des Trainers. Ja und du weißt es ja selbst, Stefan, man arbeitet so eng mit den Schülern zusammen, man kennt jede einzelne Bewegung man durchlebt Höhen und Tiefen und das war definitiv ein Höhepunkt.

Stefan: Ja absolut für ihn. Ähm, wie schon gesagt, also hat mir sehr gut gefallen und es freut mich auch für ihn, das er da auch mit seinem jetzigen Trainer da wirklich einen sehr guten Trainer an der Seite hat.

Daniel: 184,82 Punkte im Gesamtklassement kombiniert Technik und ich bin mir nicht sicher, dritt, viertbeste Komponentenpunktzahl, gesamt zusammengerechnet reicht es natürlich für die Führung, ein klasse Auftakt in diese letzte Gruppe. Gratulation and das Team Lambiel und Uno.

This is Shoma’s first program I’ve watched and together with the FS, the only time I’ve seen him IRL. I went as a Javier fan and I left as a Shoma forever fan.

I was there too. It was really memorable! He looks SO young there (and he was!). He was definitely a crowd favorite. Sigh.

Yep he did, because he has ice shows coming up soon (Stars On Ice and Prince Ice World) so I think the plan was always to come back to Japan for a while after Worlds.

Toro is the diva of the bunch and it's just too cute :ROFLMAO: Emma is so energetic, Baron is happy to be there and Toro.... is a moody princess.
 
Finally stopping by to congratulate Shoma on his 4th place. I needed some time to catch up on sleep before I could put any coherent thoughts together!

For someone who needs (and thrives) on doing a lot of competitions in a season, I’m glad he did as well as he did. A normal season for Shoma (prior to Worlds) consists of 1 Challenger, 2 or 3 GP events, J-Nats, many times 4CC, and sometimes 1 more Challenger. So that’s possibly 4 to 7 competitions prior to Worlds. What did he have this time? One! In addition to the competitions, sometimes he has done as many as 30 off-season ice shows where he gets to try out his new programs. Hopefully there will never be another season like this one!

It was a shame about the stumble on the 3A in the SP. The 4T-2T – Stephane continues to work with him on checking the rotation of his jumps. He HAS to land square on the 4T in order to get that 3T. I believe he will get it, but its going to take some time. Already Stephane has helped him improve on this, but when he gets nervous, the old habits creep back in. I’m not a big fan of whining about the scores, but let’s just say I was pretty annoyed with the GOE on some of his spins and step sequence. Really?...This was one competition and one only. I suspect that most of the skaters didn’t even believe it would happen! I’m sure that didn’t help any for motivation.

The gala? Meh. A bit of a snub. Don’t worry, we’ll see Oboe multiple times at ice shows. It’s a beautiful EX and I love it. Can’t wait for 2 new programs. He’s already working on the free but hasn’t started the short yet. Please – classical! And since I am the #1 lover of warhorses, please skate to Don Quijote!

This has been a year of change and growth. I am amazed at how smoothly he has adjusted to life in Shompery. I was afraid the change would be too drastic and too rural for him. He has said many times that he loves the environment and the fact that his training mates are very diligent. I am confident that he and Stephane will continue to do great work together.

On the podium or not, I will always be his fan! I want to cherish all of his skating and see his competitions live as many times as I can. How can my little 17-year old be 23 years old already?! Their careers are short, and right now, I can’t imagine skating without him! Is it too soon to start praying for what I want for his GP events!? I think right now if they told me his GP is in Australia, I would go (even though it's a little far). For now, I'm happy we can put this season behind us and move on!

It will be quite a reunion and Sho's first time meeting Baron. I am sure Tree will provide a hilarious video
of the homecoming. :bsplit:

I hope we get to see Shoma at WTT but I am not getting my hopes up.
 
Can't seem to detach this report on Shoma arriving in Tokyo from Yuzu's so here is both of them pushing their luggage cart.

The translation says for Shoma: 'the hoodie is cute' So, at least Shoma and Yuzu (haven't seen any others reported) are in a hotel waiting to be released to go home.

I thought about that and wondered if he gave his leftover food to Koshiro! And is there a place where they can store some stuff until he returns? If he is going to do ice shows, it might be a while before he is back.
