Nothing stirs passions like the Russian ladies. On and off the ice.
I don't remember if it was in this thread or the thread for the Russian Cup Final but there was chatter of how Kostornaia's new SP dress was quite similar to Shcherbakova's with doing the fade from darker blue on the torso/shoulders to light blue at the gloves.

It’s sad that in the US, the “news” outlets for this sport are part time bloggers and part time podcasters. Someone like me that is still learning the new era would like to have a few good news sources besides Russian ones which have to go through a translatorRussian media are actually being too kind, tickling his vanity by calling him a "journalist"
There is nobody even half competent, save for the NBC Sports Olympic and figure skating section.
And IFS Magazine has good stories but that only comes out 6 times a year and their coverage of the events is poor. Most of the time it’s just a rehash of the protocols.
While it's nice that mainstream publications cover figure skating in Russia, their model is now clickbait where they look for some controversy and get everybody and their mother and dog and anyone who just likes to hear the sound of their own voice to comment on it. Sometimes the sidebars of these news sites it's 7-8 different people commenting on the same thing.
And this is not an accident... journalists want people to keep clicking and the skaters, coaches, federation, et al want to keep their fans emotionally invested. In a way they're trying to make up for that fact that figure skating in comparison to other sports has a rather boring schedule and organization.

Update on the Trusova situation: Laishev is saying Trusova promised to come back and he’s sure that she will, Plushenko is being cryptic and saying he will give more information later. Tarasova is saying not to believe Laishev, and Yana is point-blank saying it’s an April Fools joke, and that is ridiculous and not true. Trusova said at the World Championships that she’s staying with Plushenko, but we haven’t heard anything from here as of today. Here is the sports.ru page since the info comes from like 10 different articles
