Also talks a lot about training with Tutberidze and how it is different from what she’s seen before, how it helped her to open up/discover herself. Questions about food, what she eats, what Eteri tells them to eat and her height came up as well. Fun fact: Alina’s and Maia’s dads seem to be friends

Hah, everyone is learning a 3A nowadays. Except my cat, that is. She went from her double axel straight to rippon 4A. Coach says she has to work on her rotation axis though.

Exacticly!There was a very long dominance of the US ladies and about the quarter of the world gold medals were won by them. I take it the way that in tennis for instance Federer, Djokovic or Nadal have fans all around the world, in skating skaters could have the support all around the world too. After all I am not Russian and if those fantastic skaters were from a different country than Russia, I would be still supporting them although I admit particular similarities in slavic mentality or taste make it easier (even if many people in my country would rather die than admit that).
That's one of my favorite interviews. It's always nice to see EG smile.
oh and she was right about her returning to Moscow changed everything in Russian ladies figure skating. It took many years for her to get to the top and there's no sign of her success as a coach slowing down.
