Agreed. Like I mentioned in the 'Trusova returning to Eteri' thread, I would also bet on Zhenya transitioning into coaching/choreo (possibly even English coaching) soon as well.

I could totally see that as a future for Anna (not so soon, maybe after 2022) and just maybe Tursynbayeva since they are both quite fluent in English.

Nothing against him at all, but I really want to see Eteri training them as coaches who eventually pull a reverse Brian Orser and take his students in an ironic reversal of fates. The drama would be unending.

Maiia over Dasha on the main team? wow...i'd have thought Dasha proved herself and made much more of a case this season.

If Alina is not even on the reserve...that's pretty much confirmation she's not competing this season (and likely not again).

Yeah I think that's kinda what was predicted. The question for me came down to who would be reserve between Maiia and Daria. (I can see them going with last competition!) Aliona was always going to be on that team. And the rest were guarantees. Liza N was pretty obvious as the final reserve spot. (Unless Alina wanted it she's the only person who they would have pumped her off for.)

I guess we'll see though!

Dont know if it has been posted here yet ( i doubt there is a fan fest yet for Kostyleva ), but this is the SP from Kostyleva from a local competition ( i cannot understand which one it is ). As i understand, Kostyleva is a novice and Eteris girl. She is very promising, she seems to have very good and solid technique, as well as step sequences AND spins! She also has great musicality for her age. I really like her programm, although the music does not sound really well. Enjoy her performance! :)

Isn't she *EIGHT* years old?!?!?! We hear so much about the "Eteri Bonus", but don'tcha think there is a REASON?? This child is superb and Eteri Bonus or not she deserves all her PCS. Just think, in FIVE years she'll be able to have a fan site on Golden Skate!! lol

Oh, I bet that hurt for Daria. She always looks so serious with an "I will cut you!!" look... I suppose it's because she hasn't done the ultra-c yet. I'm happy for Maiia and that she did that final competition of the season to show her quads, otherwise there would be no explanation for RusFed to select her over Daria. I also wonder if Eteri was able to give her opinions of who should be on the team versus reserve, and maybe Eteri sees more growth potential. I hope Med retires. Put Sinitsina in the reserve.

You should be writing scenarios for TV dramas ;) although that’s what figure skating is anyway 😂

I know, right. I generally never look at novices/pre-novices, but Lena caught my attention, she is insanely good at her age. It’s incredible! I have a suspicion she was born in skates, cause I don’t know how else this is possible. Her jumps are big and confident. She has very good speed, and edge quality for her age. She’s probably better than majority of skaters 2-3-4 years older than her.

In both videos you see how the person holding Tuktamysheva's harness and Dudakov for Zagitova bend their legs when the skater is about to jump to provide lift. Well....

Sergei was not doing that at all for Daria! I was really disappointed, for reasons mentioned about harness jumps not meaning anything when I saw the Daria video. Daria has been going for the 3A for so so long. Like why did Sambo decide to release this kind of video for Daria? But maybe that's some hope.

That’s not the real team announcement, just someone is supposing what it might be. The real one is not out yet.

They didn’t, it was shot for a store selling figure skating equipment (and the store posted the video). On this particular video (also on some photos with Aliona) they were advertising the harness :) so they kind of had to film a few shots with a harness. :)

I know its a long shot, but thats kinda the point xD

But as you say its the Russian Figure Skating Drama. We are on what? Season 4 now?

I'm not sure its entirely out of the realm of possibility.

I'd say the decision was based entirely on Maiia's FS at Russian Cup Final. It's unfair, but quads trump everything in that field. One can only hope the snub fuels Daria to improve instead of discouraging her. I'm wondering, how does this actually affect the reserves? Do they get less but still some funding? Daria will still go to two Grand Prixs right?

More concerning to me: I saw someone on twitter say Rozanov was returning to Sambo as well?? Does anyone know anything about that?
