No, getting my information from what the Russian Fed is saying will be the case. (As reported by Russian sources). As a practical matter I'm not sure how else skaters might be ranked. I would hope that there is some sort of oversight committee which evaluates the judging across all of the JGP's.-at least concerning those skaters contending for top slots.

I'm not sure if there's an Oversite Committee but, Coaches and Skaters are not silent if they feel like the scores were too low. Remember this scene from I Tonya?? Bad words bleeped......

At Skate San Francisco this weekend ...

Starr Andrews: 185.78 = 65.10 SP + 120.68 FS

(Also in Senior Women, Milly Murdock competed for the first time this season, AFAIK/IIRC.)

Looks like Lindsay won't be competing in Slovakia, Ava Ziegler will compete instead.

Probably smart, as that event is stacked with 4 Russians as well as Chaeyeon Kim and Mia Kalin who could also place well. I'm interested to see which other event she'll do now.

Lindsay was interviewed by Polina a few months ago on Polina's podcast - she does seem shy.

If Karen, Bradie or Alysa underperform, she could slip in there. I'm not considering Amber or Mariah right now, with Amber injured and Mariah's subpar performance at Cranberry. We have 5 months, though and a lot of could change.

Well not exactly the same, as now she would need to achieve the minimums at a senior events to be eligible - not sure if she has that or if she will be sent to go get it.

Well, according to Tonya, she did not say those exact words. However, I've heard and said some things in the judges room that I am ashamed of saying now that I'm older and no longer coaching. The fact is, based on where and when a judge was trained, they will judge on their experience. I know that's the way I judged and still judge on occasion. I had a heavy ballet training life and I give credit to groups who can successfully perform the difficult movements that ballet includes.

When I saw Tonya live at Skate America, I thought she was amazing. She had big jumps and was a really good performer who felt the music. We can't go backwards but, I wish Jeff had helped Tonya be more secure and trust the fact that she could win, even if Nancy was there. I never saw Nancy in person but, I felt that a clean Tonya with her 3A would beat Nancy in most cases.

Poor Jeff. He must be bewildered by people still putting Tonya's character shortcomings onto him, as if they were his responsibility to correct. He was hardly a coach, her mentor or a counselor to help with consistency/mental strength.

I'd like to know who filled her head with the idea that if Nancy were out, that she would be the Olympic Champion. There was a lot of talk about her getting rich and she herself said "I Got Lazy" Tonya was hardly a shirking violet and she could have taken control of her training and made things happen in a positive way. I guess she got the last laugh with her Movie but, it does seem like a waste of good talent.

Guess they give her the host spot gp america to prop her for olympics. They can send liu+lindsey and one of the veteran girls. It would be wise to go with clean 3-3 jumpers

At the moment, yes? It seems like they'll be using the top 6 scores to qualify instead of the usual point system because of what happened with the Russian skaters.

I believe that this hasn't been verified but it was reported in the Russian media. It isn't it even clear if there will still be JGPF. There isn't really a fair way to go about it. Judging at various competitions can be wildly different and the high altitude in France obviously has an affect on skaters, too. However, I personally don't think it matters if junior skaters make the JGPF. JGPF is just about helping the young skaters grow and learn how to compete

Agree about pairs. Russian junior pairs are on a different level than the rest of the field. Especially because the US hasn't even bothered to assign any pairs to compete. ( Strange decision, I think.. Why wouldn't they take this opportunity for their pairs to compete internationally?). It might also be true that the JGPF will only have Russian ladies, although I could see one or two non-Russians barely managing to make it in. However, men and dance being exclusively Russian seems unlikely. Russian junior men are not technically above the rest of the field nor are they more consistent. There is only one Russian dance team that I see being really competitive because all of their well-known junior teams aged out of juniors. Wof/Chen will almost certainly make the final. It is likely B/B will, too. Along with the Canadian team that was second in JGP France.

Yeah, hence the ? because I haven't heard from the ISU that they're not holding it and they did say something about "alternative qualification measures". I agree on the JGPF, though.

You saw her at Skate America 1991? I watched it on tv and that was the performance that made me a fan. I had it on video for years and now I have it in my YouTube library. That was the best she ever skated.
