Someone on another site said Bradie's pretty injured and looking "super rough" :frown: They had other info, e.g. about Nathan and Mariah's programs, so they seem pretty credible, but I'd like to get some corroboration.

They also said that Alysa's 3A is "still not great but she's rotating and landing a few," and that Karen "looked good, nothing new."
Oh gosh--sorry to hear this. I wonder if it's her back again...

Too bad for Bradie. But this also mean bradie spot for O is not sure at all. They should really consider sending Lindsey

According to an "insider" who was supposedly at champs camp: "Mariah did one 3f-3t and it was downgraded. I didn't see bradie do anything above 3lo and she did some 3T-3Ts but they looked rlly unstable and under."

This is a bit worrisome. If Bradie is healing well, I wonder how long it'll take for her to be landing 3lz and 3f consistently and cleanly. She competes in two weeks and I'd rather her do watered-down content cleanly rather than rushing and potentially botching the higher difficulty jumps. As for Mariah, I'm not sure what the problem is. I wonder if her relationship with Raf is strained in some way? He certainly doesn't seem to care as much for her as Nathan. I just hope she's in the right headspace. It seems that the women, other than Alysa and maybe Karen (although I didn't hear much about her), are all around the same level for those olympic spots at this point.

Thank you. Wow this is all very depressing indeed.

Did we just recently hear about Bradie’s injury after she WD from Cranberry? I don’t remember hearing about her being injured this summer. This is very surprising and sounds severe. I’m worried.
I hope we get the full story soon. I'm not ready to write Bradie off and if she needs the Committee to get her to the games, I say send her.

I might be a broken record here, but there is clearly a double standard at play.

If Alysa was injured that badly and lost the ability to do triples, and could only attempt downgraded 3T's - half this forum would be writing with glee how she's done. Just saying.

This is completely untrue! I want all of our Ladies to be out there competing at their highest level, especially with Olympic Spots on the line. If all the ladies are healthy and skate to their top level I see Bradie on the team. She's a former Olympian and is the 2 time and reigning US Champion. I'd hate to see an injury take her out of contention. Remember what happened Michelle in 2006? She traveled over to Italy and re-injured herself and was replaced by Emily Hughes. That had to be heartbreaking for her.

I don't know if Mariah only doing 1 triple-triple is really a concern; she's never been a 'technical' skater; she really does the bare minimum technical requirements and that's how she's been for several years. Is it that her coach doesn't pay attention to her or that there's relationship difficulties - etc. I don't know I've never heard her give an interview suggesting that being a problem, but she's 25 and been with Raf for 5 years, it's not like she's 14-15 and with the same coach that she's had since she first got on the ice; if the problem was the coach-student relationship, then she's as much to blame for not changing the situation.

Because it was in the US, because the host could choose who the judges to invite, because they invited a judge has a history of cheating. If Alysa and Isabeau were to skate their SPs at the same event, Isabeau’s PCS could be on top.
We'll have to disagree. I don't believe that the entire Cranberry judging panel was dishonest, which is what you are saying or strongly implying. I stand by my opinion that Alysa's scores (including her PCS) were VERY much deserved!

In case anyone hasn't seen it. Isabeau attempting a 4T:

2 weeks is decent for an athlete that's recovered and gaining strength. If Bradie is healed up she could be getting a lot better every passing day in that time so there's hope.

Apart from the quad (a fine attempt and I love that she went for it!), Isabeau is EXQUISITE! I love skaters with strong balletic qualities! 🤩🩰🩰⛸⛸

Those are the same International judges who gave that big gap of scores to Tarasova and Morosov. Those same judges did no favors to K/F or C/J and deservedly so. Also, I was there at Cranberry sitting next to the judges, saw Alysa skating like a firecracker, saw the audience being very supportive and efusive while Dave Lease was not happy at all (LOL he was clearly salty bc he predicted that Sierra Venetta or Gracie Gold could be at the top of the scoreboard if not win it all..), saw T/M skate great but they could do MUCH better and yet they were given those big scores, saw Eteri talking to Nikolai Morozov and to a lady who kept going to where the judges were. We can talk about speculation all we want but those scores were given through International judges and is not a random conspiracy theory that says these are home-cooked judges.

Comparing both performances in completely different contexts creates for interesting predictions. But until they are both skating in the same competition with similar contextual circumstances we won't know for sure who will lead in the scoreboard. I'm all for, hopefully, having another Kwan/Cohen era with Alysa and Isabeau (and yes, it's WAY too early to think that that will be the case) and would appreciate people elevating and given fair criticism instead of pitting both girls against each other (and giving into 'who exclusively deserves the most PCs'). There are different performing styles and while I dearly love Isabeau's white swan I would hate to see all top contenders fit the typical and traditional mold of the elegant ballerina in figure skating. There is space for everyone's dancing styles and, as long as they are greatly delivered, they all should be celebrated.

It is quite yucky unfortunately, she has to go really really low before jumping, much like Berestovskaya's quad toe. Not like Sasha's or Kamila's.
