Kamila is Lydia's age and the tallest, Liza is a bit over Jane's age and Alyona is between Kitty's and Mary's ages. The contrast between the girls' characters and those in the novel gave me a good laugh.

Aliona is going back to Lovely as a FS and reportedly she’s getting a new SP to New York New York!
I like the idea of skating to Lovely, she did so well with it in shows. The SP I would have kept, it was starting to look better as she gained her confidence back.
Hoping everything works out and she does exceptionally well in Canada!

Oh goodness! Lovely did seem to make her happy, and it doesn't have memories of last season's turmoil, I hope. A whole new SP as well is unexpected, and I really truly hope that it works out for her.

I feel like Lovely showed her glide and flowy skating skills far better than Vivaldi did. Honestly, I thought the Vivaldi fp was a mess and her Lovely in the show was very nice.

I do agree! That said, I would love to see her skate to something by Vivaldi again, but the pieces I have in mind are Spring re-composed by Max Richter for The Crown and also the Concerto in D minor for 2 violins and cello. I feel that the Spring piece might be something that Aliona could connect to, as she seems to like passionate and dramatic love stories, and that piece was used for the early days of Princess Margaret's romance with Antony Armstrong-Jones. Don't know how the pieces should be cut, and they probably wouldn't go well together, but I would love to see what Aliona could do with either of them. One day.

Great decision to use Lovely program, for one thing she is familiar with it so can really work on putting the triple axel in and not be worrying about new choreography and another she can connect to this music, she enjoys it and she knows how to sell it and get a great performance from it. Interesting they changed the sp. Hope it's l Frank Sinatra and not some third rate cover version. Excited for her. Hope she can regain her confidence and bring back the Aliona we all know and love.

They look light small fries compared to Kamila just keep growing. Good luck to all three and Canada especially AK.

I like the idea of Aliona changing up her programs this will make her more comfortable and her skating flow better.
It's just kind of shocking this happened right before the 1st grand pre event of her season..

WOW! I had been hoping that Aliona would change her programs, but I never expected it to happen!!

And while I'm less surprised that they decided to do a "Lovely" FS, I am shocked that she'll have a brand-new SP. (Or maybe it's just the same choreo to different music...?)

I guess "New York, New York" is easier on the ears, but I'm not sure it really fits Aliona's personality. I would prefer something darker and slinkier, and less jazz-handy... My other concern is that the Sinatra version (if that's what she's using) is rather slow in tempo--I think she does better with faster-paced songs. But we shall see!!

I just hope that Aliona has had enough time to practice these programs and that she can remember the choreography!

I can't say I'm thrilled by this decision. FP maybe, although the music itself is atrocious. But a new SP in such a short time cannot be a good thing...

The FS was totally out of Aliona's chords.
It could work for Anna but not for Aliona that is a girl of strong emotions and that is what she should convey out of the ice.
I'm not so sure hte SP needed changing instead of tuning and perfecting but we will see.

The Lovely FS instrumentals are beautiful! I love this change. Vivaldi is great music for her too but I liked the Vivaldi SP last year so much more.

After seeing the SP again I'm actually liking it and I don't like the idea of her learning new choreo.

i'm so happy we finally get to see Lovely. i was SO bummed when they ditched it last year. it's so Aliona. I'm surprised they also changed the short, it wasn't the best but it could have worked with more mileage.

i'm just concerned about her fitness level. she was not in top form last time we saw her and now she has two new programs...i hope she's been working really hard.
