I'm very interested to see if Alysa can medal at Skate Canada over Aliona tomorrow. They're only two points apart. There's no catching Liza and Kamila now, unless either of them bombs.
Alysa seems like she has more difficult content planned, as I'm not sure if Aliona's gonna go for two triple axels, and she certainly doesn't have a quad planned. Alysa's prone to underrotations, but a landed, underrotated quad lutz is worth more than a clean triple lutz. Aliona still gets better GOE and PCS, but she's been dropped hard by RusFed, just looking at the PCS she's getting now compared to two seasons ago. Alysa is also definitely the steadier competitor at this point, as Aliona is definitely more prone to mistakes on "easy" elements compared to Alysa. It'll be a big victory for Alysa if she can snag a bronze tomorrow.
Edit: If Alysa could switch out the 3F for a 3Lo in her SP, that would certainly help her score. It's been called ! at two competitions in a row now, and it was called a few times in her junior season too. She'd score more points with it since there's hardly a BV difference and the 3Lo would get positive GOE. She's already going to switch out the second 3F for a 3A in the free program, so that won't be an issue, but it's just irritating to see edge calls when they could be avoided by just switching an element.

Whether she snags the bronze or not I think Alysa has made a good case for herself for the Olympics and has definitely lived up to potential!!!!
I don't think any of the other US ladies can touch her. The only person who can is injured

Exactly how I feel.....It must be so frustrating for her to see these events and know that she can't be there to make her case for the Olympic Team.Whether she snags the bronze or not I think Alysa has made a good case for herself for the Olympics and has definitely lived up to potential!!!!

Apologies mrrice. I forgot I was logged into a VPN Canadian server when I posted the link. ramurphy2005's fancam stream link should work for you(I tested it using an Arizona server). I was able to watch the video and I have to say. When it comes to SP's, I really think a clean Bradie Tennell would beat that. She was a little tight on the back half of her 3/3 but, she is definitely increasing her speed.Definitely should have been at least a q.

I feel like if I were to comment on the scoring of women's SP I would be suspended permanently. Can we please get judge 3 suspended? Also can we please replace the American judge with me? Thank you.

Alysa needs to rotate her 3A; she got a 5.something for it. For her 3/3 combo her score was as good at Kamila's and better than anyone else's at the top. Tuk's PCS were ridiculous relative to the others. Perf, interp, etc. in the 9s and composition 8.93? BS. Back to Alysa I think she can nab a bronze IF she can get positive GOE on her 3As (quad?) or at least not get downgraded. Usually what people mean when they say junior is slow. I haven't seen Alysa in person since she made the huge improvement in PCS but in the past she was very very slow. She is probably still rather slow compared to other skaters. She also has small jumps. However, that doesn't mean she doesn't have other nice qualities that aren't "junior" at all. I think her performance ability is quite lovely and I really like her programs.
