Unfortunately, it doesn't take much to lose a level in Step Sequence. Here's how the step sequences were graded:Okay, I'm going to be nit picky here but....in what universe does Shoma get a level 3 on his step sequence? Did he not have enough changes of direction or something b/c that was the best of the group but a 3?
No intent to criticize the other skaters but I watched them all and saw the protocols but the sheer beauty of the choreography in his SP deserves more, IMO. It was a smooth, calm, powerful program and I'm happy it all worked out.I think there was only one level 4 in the entire group. Strict tech panel![]()
Guess they made up for the 3 by giving him a high GOE?Unfortunately, it doesn't take much to lose a level in Step Sequence. Here's how the step sequences were graded:
Level 2 -- Makar I., Sota, Nam, Camden
Level 3 -- Shomajesty, Junwhan, Kao, Tomoki
Level 4 -- Vincent, Matteo, and Samarin
Interesting if you compare Sho and Samarin -- Sho 3.90 + 1.32 GOE = 4.62 ; Samarin 3.90 + .72 GOE = 4.62
Oops -- I typed one number wrong above. They did both come out with 4.62 though.Guess they made up for the 3 by giving him a high GOE?
Yup!Congratulations to the NHK champion!
Does that mean he's guaranteed to go to the finals?
Shoma, Vincent and Nathan have all qualified to date. Congrats to Shoma for returning to the finals and good luck in Osaka!!Congratulations to the NHK champion!
